You are wrong. Does that satisfy you? By your definition it explains you to adequate perfection.

Those concepts are merely used to serve the people who has them. They do not replace reality. Just like you have the irrational concept that other people of who you apparently don't understand shit (otherwise you would have portrayed understanding I guess) should perceive reality in the same way as you, regarding to deities at least. It's the same kind of futility.
Hey, I'm also not in favor of a country deciding what you have to believe in, but that's why we have invented the seperation of church and state. Those things are valuble progressions. Trying to eradicate religion or spiritual faith or 'fantasies' according to you just because you insist they only damage society is not so progressive as you like to make it seem.

That seems a lil subjective? I mean based on your idea of "consensus" reality which is not niversally shared? You are simply agreeing with the percentage of others who see/think what you do. The only consensus reality that seems possible would be agnostic ie no one knows what is going on, only that something is.

So we can recognize our estate in the moment but what we cannot do is know what we are doing in relation to unfolding time because regardless your actions the future remains indefinite.

The concept of dragons exists, but it does not mean dragons exist in reality. Not all concepts are based on reality, and that will always be a problem for people who want the comfortable lie over the harsh truth.

That is no argument in favor of unrealistic concepts when the ideas themselves will always be used for the detriment of humanity. Reality is far better than make-believe. Trust me, life is magnificent just the way it is without having to add unnecessary mythologies to it.

The thing is: the concepts and ideas are not always used for the detriment of humanity. It's your dogmatic belief that such concepts merely or in the first place exist to do such a thing. I'm not saying institutions on which these concepts are based can't abuse them, but that is not limited to religion, nor does it make religion or those concepts purely bad or evil.

Well, you can trust me when i say life is magnificent ANYWAY :p

That is no argument in its favor either. As I have already mentioned, so long as the idea that something untrue is considered true by the masses, and as long as there are always differing ways of interpreting the messages that religion provides, then there will always be those who use those interpreted messages for the detriment of humanity.

There is absolutely no logical reason for anyone to believe in that which cannot be supported by evidence, and I have yet to see anyone provide any logical reason why religion or religious ideas should be a part of society. It makes me feel good or why not? simply does not cut it.

When something does not work, and fixing it is out of the question because the ideals within the corrupt institution are set in its ways, unchanging, then it is time to consider getting rid of those outdated and unnecessary ideas. Religion has done great harm, continues to do great harm, and it is in veritable opposition to real peace.

The only way for peace to work is either for everyone to be ignorantly religious or for everyone to be realistically atheist. There can be no middle ground, because coexistence is impossible when reality clashes with make-believe.

Honestly, seems like a fantasy to me (not a problem on itself, you are entitled to them naturally) and even worse, acting upon it can only result in adding to the detriment of humanity...

    .
This statement is fundamentally unsound. Reality supports it's constituents, what is not real does not exist. Reality does not clash with make believe as the two never meet.

Thinking that make-believe is grounded in reality is irrational, and religious concepts are make-believe.

But the title of the thread is: if God is a contradiction... the whole premise is the assumption of make-believe and whether then the make-believe is translated into something useful for action. God is the capacity for action that would be promising at once for all and forever for anybody.:)

There are plenty of contradictions within religion to make it apparently and obviously false, but I do not need to go that route.

God's existence is mentioned in the title, and I am not off topic. God's existence is for adults as Santa is for children. The ironic thing is that children are supposed to grow up and stop believing in make-believe.

Well, what about when the religious authority in the past had determined that a woman accused of witchcraft should be burned alive at the stake? In my opinion, make-believe certainly clashed with reality to the detriment of the woman on that day. Unless you're going to contend that the reality of make-believe was the reality.

EDIT: By that I mean, ask the woman if the church's unreal idea met reality.

A contradiction in a religion does not have to cause a conflict (in between a person's ears or between different persons). When it does not cause a conflict, why be bothered by a contradiction (depending on the exact contradiction I guess ;)). Don't you have contradictions in your own being? Do they have to be 'solved' or eradicated because contradictions might cause conflict?

It seems ironic to you because you insist on comparing the belief in god's existence has no more use than telling a fairytale. Yet the two have clearly different reasons and purposes.

Belief without sufficient evidence can cause you to accuse falsely and thus affect your reasonable responses. People killing and being killed does not clash with reality.

That testimony is impossible to acquire and is therefor an irrelevant line of questioning.

Theism or the faith in a higher power is not in the first place about evidence.
