If God Has A Plan For Everyone, Then Why Is It Planned For Some People To Be Non-Believers?

Quite speculative and pretty disgusting on the surface. I've seen a Monitor eat a rabbit before, trying to view things from the rabbits perspective, I didn't see a 'shred' of beauty in that experience.

rabbit being eaten alive...or anything ripped apart.....is beautiful? To whom? A sadist....?
Would you like to be ripped apart?

  4. Beauty isn't always entertaining. Beauty can be sad. Beauty can be disturbing. It's the meaning of the rabbit's life that is in question. If the rabbit can't literally be torn apart despite being eaten, yes I find that beautiful.

Does a rabbit consider whether a thing is beautiful or not? Seems you succeed in applying human perspectives to the rabbit. In doing so we could conceive that the monitor finds it thrilling and I suppose the same for the rabbit.

I haven't a clue, I am pretty sure that the animal squealing as it's getting tore into is a sign of an adverse reaction and certainly not beautiful.

If you find that beautiful, we have nothing whatsoever in common.....sorry to say...:(

  8. I'm just presenting the possibility that it's hard to say what is beautiful and what is not, especially from God's perspective. If you're going to make this personal...if you're going to make your philosophy personal...you're not going to have a very broad philosophy.

Is there no beauty to the circle of life, and can you not conceive that someone, somewhere might see beauty in it?

nope....but to each their own......and nothing personal about that, either.
I will speak my mind, though....especially when animals are involved...i have seen a rabbit get ripped once and it was in pain....saw it...heard it.... felt it......and let me tell you, there is nothing beautiful about that.

  10. See, to me the rabbit is always beautiful, so long as it is sentient. Is the act of devouring another creature itself beautiful? I don't know. From a certain detached perspective, it's just colors, shapes, and sounds. Would I try to stop a monitor or a fox from eating a rabbit? Yes. If God exists, one would have to be a maniac in order to live in harmony with God on this earth.

What you seem to be arguing is that life itself isn't beautiful. We can't exist any other way. That's a pretty profound statement you're making. Someone could turn it right around on you and say you're being sadistic.

How am I being sadistic? I do not like the hunters and the hunted scenario...it is a Darwin world...i accept that....but do not find it beautiful and do not believe in a god who would have it this way.

In which case it indicates intensity as neonspectraltoast suggested. Adverse reaction could be a misnomer as the reaction could be consistent with purpose such as the desire to have temperate ease. Certainly the reaction is consistent with the mammalian pain response to squeal. All exchanges of energy are equal to themselves. All actions/reactions are complimentary.

If God existed, what makes people think he's even in our solar system? The complexity of our universe, but ya'll think he's watching over little earth? Please. Earth is like a spot of mould in a dirty old washroom. And then that washroom is like a dirty piece of mould on a 100acre block of land. And then that land..

You need a detached perspective for that, similar to the detached perspective serial killers get in dehumanizing their victims.

I don't see you turning anything around, you are falsely conflating Moonglow's statements and making a non-sense assertion for her, also a rabbit that's eaten is no longer sentient, so even by your own standards I don't follow how you maintain that as beautiful?

It seems like viewpoints like yours point to why ritualistic human and animal sacrifice might have been so prevalent throughout human history.

I will no longer keep saying the same thing....saying it once should have been enough.

Yes I have and I don't get why your complaint should be reiterated because of what I said.

maybe because half the time I have not the foggiest notion of what you are saying really......
excuse my passion for some things, too, at times. I do tend to get riled up about certain things.

  18. I'll never understand this. In order for humans to be interesting at all, it has to be this way. I don't think it's a good argument against God's existence that pain exists. You want all the diversity of life, right? But you don't want what happens to make it diverse. God should have just created all the creatures in perfect happiness and harmony. Of course, one thing leads to another, and one consequence of all this is that we would have completely different body structures. When you eliminate all suffering you see that nothing is necessary anymore. Life isn't necessary.

That's not a good argument against God either. God is supposed to be smart, so on the other hand, why wouldn't God be intensely aware of everything that exists?

Hm...I once heard a serial killer liken himself to God in his murderous ways. It might not be an inaccurate comparison. From God's point of view, maybe everything comes out all right. All life returns to God and harmony; life in this world requires "murder". (Even though I don't think animals eating each other is exactly "murder.") But God's attitude towards what goes on in this world might be very much detached in a way that is obviously scary to us. (If it weren't scary to us we'd never have thought of God in the first place.)

While the rabbit is sentient, it is beautiful. Afterwards it feels no pain. Its predator consumes and survives and continues the life cycle. I don't see what's so abhorrently ugly about that. It's not that I relish in death. I am just cognizant of the fact that I am not the dictator of what is beautiful from all perspectives. I don't want to harp on moonglow, because she is obviously a gentle person and I appreciate that greatly. Nothing makes me angrier than a bully.

They have been prevalent, and these points I am raising I raise also to present the fact that, in fact, we aren't that far flung from our past. Part of what makes us human is a lack of information, and when we remember that there is a lack of information, what will some people resort to?

We have a tendency to apply human perspectives to the sensational aspect of being regardless what being is experiencing those sensations regardless how alien in form and habit. Certainly it is mistake to judge animal behavior in terms of human aesthetics. For example the canine visible color field is different from our own.

Yes, he is god, so why not?

but this discussion is pointless....I do not believe in "god."
