If freedom is simply being able to do what you want, are animals freer than humans?

that's not as simple a question as it sounds. humans, not being minerals or vegetables are animals.
some, not all, other species do mark territory, but only humans build fences and post guards on them.
and only humans impose building codes in remote rural areas where they're not needed,
or require a piece of paper claiming ownership of the land, before being allowed to build their own shelter and live in it.

other species do have other limitations though, many do face greater risks in their everyday lives,
    sometimes even embarassing ones.

but basically we are unique in imposing restrictions on ourselves which some of are needless illogical and counterbenificial.
and others which are useful in limited contexts but tend to be carried over beyond them,
which by doing so unlevels 'the playing field'.

also freedom is only doing what you want up to and not beyond the point where it is reducing the freedom of someone else. when it goes beyond that point, it is reducing the level of freedom generally. this is an obvious logic, but one too many humans mysteriously insist on blinding themselves to.

(for example, disturbing the peace, or any form of demanding attention, is not freedom when it robs other of the freedom to think their own thoughts)

Most animals are extremely territorial and are confined by barriers that we cannot perceive. Animals are also in a constant battle for survival that negates any feeling of freedom, as their lives are constantly governed by hunger and fear.

As such, animals are a lot less free than we are in pretty much every way, shape, or form.

The Mexican Cartels are looking for a few good people who feel national sovereignty and territoriality are bullshit. Go ahead, jump the White House fence and see what happens. Weapons are the largest money making export of the largest exporter in the world, and they are not merely collectables. Antarctica and the moon have been declared the property of the world, and they enforce laws in Antarctica, such as pollution.

I have a free outstanding offer to teach anyone how to use a dictionary and a search engine, but teaching how to think and ask questions is up to God as far as I'm concerned.
