define "better taste in art" this implies some ultimate objective "perfect" taste in art . . . surely you see that does not exist
Well, except for music, because everyone should know that Steve Howe from YES is the greatest  Nah if the world could be a better place, it wouldnt have happened, I think. Diversity! Every mushroom has its own taste
A "better" taste in art is subjective. But a higher degree of any taste in art is a little more objective. I think we do have a pretty low degree in our society. There is more exposure to advertising than there is art. If it were higher, maybe we'd have more parks and less billboards, more street art as graffiti instead of gang signs, more architectural design instead of concrete and wooden boxes. There are other cultures that have more of a sense of art than ours, and places within our culture, so it's possible. And I think it would make for a more friendly place to be.
what is good taste in art... I dunno this is a comprehensive subject... you can just kinda tell when you see it or hear it
to me a greater degree of art is one that moves me. doesn't matter in what direction i'm moved, what matters is that i'm moved and how intensely. I can be moved by an offering from any plane, even a tv commercial sometimes. in the context that better art is more powerful art, I would say what would make the world better is for people to notice art more. perhaps this is what elevates taste in art xP
the world will always be how it is all we can do is do our best to think about how it really is and how it could be and do what we can to make it how we want
