    Dude...

Dude...that was the smartest thing I've seen anyone post on this board dealing with weed, ever. Fucking EVER, man! That was cool...

Bill is right, though, and further denial that weed CAN be addicting just makes you look like a dumbass. :D

Why should I take offense? His opinion is his, not mine. I'm not going to get all worked up over it. He's not really a condescending know it all jackass. He's posted twice, dude, you're reading into all of it and heaping all your preconceptions about anti-druggers on his two little posts.

This thread is way out of proportion; I think a lot of the posters here are a little too sensetive about their weed.

I think you should take offense. Because he is basically saying that you are, or will become, a hopeless addict and ultimately fuck your life up because of weed. Now while this may be the case for some people, it's definitely not very common. MOST people can handle daily herbage, but he doesn't seem to realise that his situation is not the usual outcome for most tokers.

What I got from his posts, is that he found himself susceptible to a marijuana addiction, which lead him to assume that everyone else is just as susceptible. He even had the nerve to tell us to quit lying to ourselves because we feel confident that we will not become addicted. That's a bitch.

You're reading into it, he didn't say we're all going to become like him. And he said we're lying to ourselves as far as only seeing the good. That's what I get out of it. But then, I'm content to just live my life, smoke my weed, and not get upset when someone disagrees with me.

I agree with him when he says that it's not right for everyone, but he took it too far when he started making generalizations about the long term effects on a person's quality of life. I'm sure that it can ruin some lives, but he said that it will eventually ruin everyone's life. If I've been taking his posts in the wrong way, then I apologise to him. But I don't think that's the case.

I don't see where you're getting that from, maybe you could show me. I see that he said this:

This is the post I have a problem with. He states clearly that we are lying to ourselves for thinking that we are not using weed in a healthy way and that our arguments on the subject of responsible use are bullshit. I also have a problem with his statement that we are living life as a dream. Weed has been nothing but helpful in my life and I take offense when someone says that I'm going down a destructive path because I choose to get stoned. It has never taken me away from reality, it only helped me to find a better way of dealing with reality. He does make a few good points, but fuck him for trying to tell me how to live my life.

What the hell is so hard to understand about the phrase "To each his own" Goddamn, if you smoked weed and it was having a negative effect on your life then quit. Thats the responsible thing to do. If you smoke weed every day and you love life and you're doing well, then keep smoking. Why can't people just all chill out?

because thinking like this leads to anti marijuana sentiments potentially ruining it for the rest of us?
