Grand Cherokee. Limited editon with the leather seats and seat warmers and sunroof and all that fancy shit.
I used to drive a Blazer with the works too, leather, cruise, moonroof, etc. And it felt pretty sweet when it was 90 degrees out and I was bouncing up some logging road, Mary J. Blige blaring, in comfortably cool, leather-wrapped luxury. But it don't make it right.
I find some solace in the fact that those who are so reliant on these behemoths will be clueless when they're just immobile worthless hunks of metal.
I hate those cars... Once I was doing 55-60 in a 50 zone at night, and this asshole in his big ass SUV gets right up on my tail and stays there...too close for comfort. I beep twice for a long time, and he backs off for a minute but gets right back on me. I was really pissed off...when I got into a 35 zone, the fucker passed me doing 90. grrrr.........!
SUVs use up way too much gas! They're really bad for the enviroment. And seriously, most of these people who srive SUVs are parents from wealthy suburban areas with two or three kids... whay the hell do they need an 8 passenger, gass-guzzling, SUV?! Seriously... like they need a heavy-duty SUV to drive down the nice, paved road to the supermarket... sheesh... I want a hybird... or a hydrogen-powered car (whenever they're released). Yea... a 4-passenger, eco-frindely car! ^^
A possum-like pregnancy is one similar to the type of birth that may be given by a possum: nameably, lots and lots of babies at once or over a short period of time. A "litter" as you could call it.
The problem with the pihilosophy that SUV's are "safer" is that they are only safer for the people in them. For all the other, smaller cars on the road, they are more dangerous, as they are bigger and heavier. Plus, if you hit a deer with an SUV, while you won't have a major accident, the survival chance of that deer is almost absolutely nothing. The problem in the "safety" philosophy comes when we take the time to think about not just our own concerns, but the concerns of others. I do think it's OK to have an SUV if you live way up in the mountains or something, like my friends' dad has a huge truck that he needs to haul stuff (He's an artist and he makes like furniture and metalwork and stuff), but you shouldn't use it for everyday routine if you can help it, just when you need it. And while pouring oil down the drain is the right spirit, it can be very harmful for little fishies in the river.

Ya damn right! Ya can't help what other people choose to drive. The deer's pretty much dead either way. Even if it's only injured, it'll still have to be shot...if a cop is on scene in time. They're better off dead than flailing on the side of the road with broken legs.
I deal with the mountains of Colorodo and even there, a smaller 4x4 is going to be the ticket. Average grade is around 8 in the Front Range. My mazda hates it, but can do it as a four banger. My sweetie's six-banger handles the paved roads with ease. I was looking at rentals in a town I'd applied in, Idaho Springs, and my fave ad was "3 bed cabin, running water, usually; on Oh My Gawd road. 4 by only." I still wish I'd landed that gig! If the folks who have the Silly Ugly Vehicles also had a smaller car for local driving, well, that would make more sense.
