Has anyone watched this movie? I watched it with a friend the other day and can't believe that I hadn't heard of it before. Good movie to watch after smoking a joint.
lol That movie is hilarious. I've only seen it once, and it was the edited-for-tv version. I need to watch the uncensored version online or something.

...And there was a time in this country, a long time ago, when reading wasn't just for fags and neither was writing. People wrote books and movies, movies that had stories so you cared whose ass it was and why it was farting, and I believe that time can come again! Lol great flick
It's really an intentionally "stupid" movie, but it speaks volumes about the direction in which this country is headed.
I would like to see it again uncensored and stoned, I found the movie pretty funny and intriguing to present a dystopian story as a comedy.
It's just a typical dumb comedy in so many ways but it's also a profound cautionary tale. Not many movies can pull that off
It's by Mike Judge, the dude who brought us Beavis and Butthead. This is such a dope flick, man. I just watched it for the fifth or sixth time. The social commentary is so spot-on in this, it's unbelievable. You gotta watch it a few times to like, get past the "dumb comedy" veneer and see it for what it is. This movie predicts the coming of idiocracy 500 years into the future, but we are well into it already.
I actually watched this movie the first time I smoked weed. Holly shit it was funny. yeah one of the reasons I like it though is because tis a comedic dystopia. Every dystopian movie or book I've ever read has been a tragedy, but this is a comedic dystopia, which is certainly a nice departure from the norm of this genre.
Comedic dystopia... Cool term. I never thought about it like that, but actually this is an excellent point to make. And yes, its a rare thing to see. Yet another reason Idiocracy is kick-ass.
