This is true, but most of the articles I've read are not saying it cures depression or sets it aside as a simple anti-depressent. It's more of a long run cure. Almost anything I've read about this issue are saying things like, those who have had psychedelic experiences in the past live a happier life without depression. If you can prove me wrong, I'd love to see the article! I'm not saying this is right, but it's what I have found.

My real point is, by going into a psychedelic experience with depression, sometimes this has to make it worse to ever make it better. I know this through personal experience and anecdotal evidence of other peoples trip reports. I believe what most of these discoveries mean, is that by having these psychedelic experiences, you are more prone to overcome depression in the future, not that you will cure your depression by taking a psychedelic.

there is no such thing as the "real you" as any fixed image... that's just as much an illusion as the ego we build up day to day. you are who you are in a given moment, and that is as fluid as anything, and that's that. don't get hung up on real and fake. just let it be

LSD is not an antidepressant automatically and by default. it may help some things be clear. the thing is, though, which i've said on these forums before, it's only useful for *thoughts* one hasn't had before, or perceptions that are new, like any new experience. you mentioned one, pure love. if you know that already, what good is LSD telling you that going to do, you know?

if you feel like a zombie, i second everyone else who said to get things a bit straighter before you go tripping. zombie-ness isn't solved with a trip, it's made better with a conscious day to day effort of going out and exploring new things, try picking up some hobbies, immerse yourself in activities and use your free time keeping busy. don't make the mistake of thinking that dropping acid will make you a better human being after one day

take care , and i hope you find what you're looking for somewhere :)

Depersonalization, complete isolation, and (I guess) not supporting yourself financially doesn't sound like a good situation. I agree with people, such as CherokeeMist, who say you have work to do before psyches. Good luck to you.

There are people on this forum who have personal experience with psychedelics and mental health issues, and there are people with other knowledge, so good to pay attention to everyone. Take what you like and leave what you don't.
