Hello, I had been wondering about going to a nudist beach for years, and I eventually got around to doing it! I just wanted to share here partly to confirm to myself that I didn't dream it, and maybe it could be encouraging to anyone else who is wondering about trying it. I don't really tend to go to the beach much (it's a bit of a journey for me) but it was a way to try out being naked amongst other people. I am not used to anyone ever seeing my bits, so that was different... This was at Studland in the south of the UK if anyone is from around here. That's the one I'm closest to and as anybody who knows it will know, it has a nudist section. Drove there barefoot, naturally, it's the only way to drive. If you park on the side of the road rather than walk from the car park you seem to enter straight into the middle of the nude part, and some people in front of me pointed out the 'nudists may be seen' sign as they went by, so I found that quite funny, knowing what I was there to do. Since you enter directly into it and that sign is there, I guess next time everything will be off straight away! Might be a bit of a surprise to anyone walking in but there were plenty of semi-hidden naked people in the dunes alongside it and the sign is very obvious so I suppose as long as you're kind of past it then you're ok. So I went around the corner and walked along the beach a little, having not been there before I wanted to make sure I was definitely in the right place and not have any embarrassing mishaps. Then I stopped in an area towards the back and took everything off. It was extremely busy and I struggled to find a small area where I wouldn't accidentally shove my arse in someone else's face. But that actually seemed to help because you feel like you don't stand out so much and you can see many other people doing the same thing. I had a walk all the way up to one end, and then back along to the other. Led down on my towel for a few minutes. It felt really natural, as it should. So open with the wind going past you. As expected, of course, nobody was taking any notice of me at all. To be honest, thinking about the amount of clothing most people wear at the beach, it didn't even feel like a huge leap. So why bother... just get rid of it all and be free! I kind of think everyone looks better naked as well, whoever they are. Maybe it just makes them all seem more human or something. I was a little worried about getting an erection before I went, but apart from the tiniest bit from the general excitement of it all there is nothing to talk about. I wasn't there long enough to worry about sun screen, so next time if I plan to stay for more than a few minutes I think I might be worried about looking like I'm playing with myself when I'm putting it on, but I guess it's normal as long as you don't prolong it. I should also mention that I have bad social anxiety and I wondered what effect doing it would have on me - surprisingly little in the end, which is a bit of a shame. It was sad when I had to put my trunks back on... I tried to walk back to the car barefoot but once you're off the beach there are too many twigs and stones, haha. So there you go... if you're thinking of doing it, do it. I hope I get to try it again soon.
Thanks guys. Haha Nudony, it's interesting to hear about your anxiety too and I find it funny that we have that yet we want to be naked with other people. I will keep trying it, I would be there every day if I lived closer I was wondering about taking a photo (or video!?) of myself as a reminder. But the beach was so busy that it was going to be impossible to avoid catching anyone else in the background. Was I worrying too much about that? Will they mind if I get a tripod out as long as I avoid anyone close? Would it be seen as odd if I asked somebody to take one for me?
You've taken a major step and discovered as with everyone that it's no big deal. No one stares at you and you don't walk around with a massive erection. I used to go to the one at Fairlight (Hastings) but I'm not sure if it's still there. I'm not sure about taking a photo....I guess it's ok though it could be perceived as weird by some people. Prob best to ask someone (excuse to talk to someone too).
That's right, it feels normal so quickly because nobody takes any notice at all! I am thankful that my willy played ball... haha. I will use wanting to take a photo as an excuse to talk to people then (if I can get over the anxiety, but at least being a newbie to nudism creates a bit of an ice breaker).
I did a similar thing at the same beach a few weeks ago. I'm always naked at home (washing the car, painting, answer the door etc), and sometimes me and my flat mate have a naked dare, ie drive through a drive through with nothing on below the waist - but I'd never been to a nudist beach. That changed when I drove to Studland beach wearing only my shorts and nothing on my feet (as usual). I parked up in the NT car park one evening, got my ticket and headed onto the beach. I walked up to the nudist signs, removed my shorts and carried on walking. The breeze on my naked body was amazing, I even ventured up the dune a bit into the long grass, again that was amazing feeling with it touching skin and my penis. I headed back onto the beach, where there was nobody around until some horse riders passed. I didn't feel nervous , gave them a "hello" smile and just carried on with my walk. A dog walker passed, and that was all I saw. That gave me some confidence and so I went back the next morning, early and parked on the roadside as the parking wasn't yet open. Quite a trek again, but lovely on my bare feet with sand, stones, dirt, grass etc. Once again, the shorts came off and I walked into the sea and had a swim. - with the breeze I quickly dried off once I exited the sea. Very few people on the beach again, apart from a young couple (she was barefoot, no shoes in sight) who made there was towards me. Again a "hello" smile and I carried on. When I turned back to walk to the other side again, and back to the car, I noticed they had both stripped off too. On my way back I happened to walked past them, and the girl said we thought we'd give it a try! I smiled and said its great eh! The next day was my last and so I decided to go when it would be packed. I parked at the furthest car park and made my way to the nudist area barefoot. There are some great textures, with the wooden bridge etc. Each of the 3 or so ways to the area is about the same length, its quite a way! The beach was packed and I removed my shorts as usual. I felt a bit nervous this time, and started to get an erection.Shit! However it soon passed as I carried on. I noticed there were lots of nudists in the dunes and a few on the beach, and families (clothed too). Anyway I walked up and down a few times and I felt great. So liberating. There was a group of young teenage lads who stared at me a bit, but apart from that nobody was bothered. What an experience!
Interesting to hear your story of the same place, Ben... well done. And you got someone to join in too! I know when I tried walking in at the fire point from the road barefoot, the stones and the twigs in the path to the beach got too much for my feet unfortunately. You're right, it is so liberating. I would probably be quite flattered to be stared at, it doesn't happen much in normal life, ha ha ha. Oh and it must be nice to have a flat mate who you can be yourself around - I don't have enough confidence to even let someone know I'm doing this but there you go Yes! Worried if it might get a little awkward putting it on in some areas but I will try to keep in mind that it's necessary. Eek.
Every story has a happy ending. I'm glad you enjoyed it and felt it was liberating and a great experience. Unfortunately for me, decades ago, I rode my bike to the nudist beach and took my Speedos off for the short walk into the dunes and the briney beyond, a little less than 300 metres... Lo and beyond, a good hour later I sauntered back. The bike was still there (phew--!), but the Speedos were ... gone! With a scowl and rapid pace, I marched back to the beach and fashioned a "loin cloth" from a clump of sea-weed, and that at least protected my coma-la-cuticles from spying eyes. But f*ck, I would not recommend it to anybody, nude or not, unless in an emergency: it tickled me ("Darling, look! Is that a Sea-slug poking out of that boy's skirt??"), scraped me, crunched me, poked me and really made for uncomfortable riding. Moral to this story is simple: always take your Speedos or whatever with you, never leave them on the bike (nor for that matter, on the roof of the car, where they may slither off and become impaled on the tow ball — eugh, consider the shock and awe of following drivers...) Whatever beach I visit, I take precautions: some unseen miscreant will be ready to jump into your pants.
Oh wow. What would you have done without the sea weed Yes I keep my things in a backpack which doesn't come off my back unless I'm sitting right next to it. Already a bit paranoid about losing things! I might just leave everything but my trunks in the car next time, then I might be able to use a bum bag/fanny pack instead. I hear they're maybe kind-of back in fashion which is something I've been waiting for because they were so useful back in the 90s
We were on vacation that had a clothing optional beach, Got the wife to go with me. I was naked from the start - it took her no more than three minutes to get completely naked too. She still talks about the thrill of it, stripping down naked in front of a group of naked guys. We went the first day -- and every day after that for a week.
I went to Studland again last week for an early morning sunrise in the nude. I parked up on the road, and made my way, barefoot, to the nudist area and stripped off to watch the sun rise staying there for about an hour. Amazing, but a little chilly. Very few people there at that time too which is a shame. There was a young naked couple walking their dog just as I was leaving, and a few clothed dog walkers too. Whats the latest you have ever been to a nudist beach in the UK?
That sounds like a wonderful feeling, barefootben. Shame it's a chilly but I'm sure the experience is worth it. At least you weren't totally alone in case you had a moment where you questioned what you were doing When I do go again I am planning to park at Sandbanks and take the ferry across, and as someone who is also kind of intrigued about going barefoot I'll be hoping to go with nothing on my feet all the way, though it does depend on what the floor of the ferry is like since they aren't really used to anything difficult. I'm afraid I can't give any input about the latest I've been myself because it's only been the one time so far and it was in the middle of the day!
This sounds like a great way to start. I go to a nude beach in Miami sometimes. The first time that I went, I just walked in, found a spot and undressed. I didn't want to be clothed to long and look like a creep. The last time I went, the "view" was amazing. One woman was sitting back with her legs open, and a well-endowed man was laying near me. I always put lotion on before I get there. I can't wait for my next trip there.
Why is the "Beach" so popular? I'd rather go nude in the woods. Or in nature somewhere, but a beach?? Ugghhhh. A field of bright yellow daisy's.
it has nothing to do with what you're wearing, the beach is just a great place to be. water makes everything better.
It amazes me that people announce they've gone to a nude beach... "at last". My first visit was so many decades ago that I cannot bring myself to understand why people put it off for so long, for whatever reason! True dinks though, the beach can be hot if you have no shelter, and the "company" occasionally disconcerting and/or concerning -- there isn't a nude beach which doesn't have some sort of passive/active subversively behaving individuals. 'Tis summer here in Australia, but the water is yet to warm up to standard to protect the delicate member from shrivelling up and potentially falling off in fright.
