My parents wanted me to join the Navy. But, one day at school someone came in and said "the draft is repealed, and you don't have to register for selective service unless you were born after Jan 1 1960" I though cool...I was born before then. Well, my parents still wanted me to take the ASVAB (I got a 98) The recruiters started calling. I got a really bad concussion playing football and was blacking out. The doctor gave me some medication. (Dilantin) The recruiter was at the house a couple days later, trying sign me up for nuclear subs (my parents were diggin that) so, I got up and said excuse me I need to take my medicine. The recruiting said "What kind of medicine you takin' son? I said "Dilantin". He said, "we aren't looking for epileptics on a sub son" then he stormed out of the house and I never heard from any more recruiters. Oh Well........
