I just wanted to share my happiness with you guys, I'm so happy! I feel so proud, me, the French girl, who was accepted to a great American university! Well, it's not one of those snob colleges where they take so much money from you, and when you get out you're sure to get a great job, but, it's the perfect college for me - and Nick! Yeah, he got accepted too. I'll be moving to New Jersey in August!
Rutgers? Moving from Spain to New Jersey will be....interesting for you. Congratulations, I think you will enjoy it.
Thanks everyone! Yeah, I've been moving a lot in my life... and the past few years I've been from France (home country) to Spain, to Texas, to New Jersey, to Spain again, and now New Jersey one more time - and this time for 4 years, which is while! I hope I meet cool people in college. I won't sleep in a dorm though, will get an apartment with Nick! I can't wait, it'll be our first home I think of joining a few clubs like a yoga-meditation one, and a dancing one too, and I even wanna be in a band, with Nick at the bass and me keyboard and singing - we'll need a few other musicians. That way I'm sure I'll meet a bunch of nice people... but I think of studying a lot, too! I'm going for a management major and a few art classes - the art is what I really like, and the management major is for what I wanna do after college - open an alternative music store in New York City an a retro club - both the same house. What do think about that? I'm going to this college, check it out, tell me what you think: William Paterson University New Jersey
Quote: open an alternative music store in New York City an a retro club - both the same house. What do think about that? I thinks it's awesome, I would be sure to check it out.
Congratulations!! It sounds so good, an alternative music store and club, so cute. And I'm sorry, just wondering, the only doubt I have is what will you do for a life? I mean, it has to be expensive to rent a house there in the USA, and the college.
Oh, well Nick and I are going to rent a small studio apartment. He's gonna get a job, of course, but as for me I won't be able to until the 2nd year in the states (it's a stupid law for foreigners), so, Nick will pay for half of the studio rent, and my parents accepted to pay for the other half (they're just too sweet I think I'll work really hard to pay them back - even though they don't want me to, I WILL!). It shouldn't be that expensive, I mean a studio apartment in a town shouldn't cost over $500 a month, but I estimate it to be more around $400... depends on the neighborhood I guess!
hey, that's great! In New Jersey city, close to NYC (or the state?)? If I was you, I couldn't possible have patience to wait! -when are you leaving?
Oh, in Wayne, by Montclair, very close to Manhattan - like 20 minutes away! I just can't wait... I can't, I can't, I can't!!!! I should be leaving in August (middle-late August). I'm gonna miss my family, but, I'm also gonna start a new life and be completely independant, which is great! I'm flying off the nest!
So you're going to live 20 minutes from Manhattan! All my life I have been dreaming about living in New York City, and I hope I will live there someday (for a longer period, at least). I would turn completely crazy of excitement, if I knew I was going to live 20 minutes from Manhattan, within a few months. You lucky..... something!
congrats penny 20 minutes away from manhattan is cool..i've done 3 years of college in NYC and loved it..sure you'll love it when you visit it
I've just there now noticed this post! Many congratulations to you and Nick! Very happy for you both, and that you both got into the same college!
Congradulations on your college acceptance! I hope you enjoy New Jersey (and the U.S.) If you any questions about NJ, feel free to ask me. Most importantly, have lots of fun!
