If you are really wanting to build your own house then this won't help but if that's not a big deal then I vote for a monolithic dome. Does anyone know anything about those? They are AMAZING. They aren't too expensive, LOTS of space, and they are completely safe against natural disaters (Fire, tornadoes, earthquakes, etc.) You can have them where it's just one really big space or you can get rooms. You should definitly look into it and if you decide to go with that then I'm in too. And I'm kinda useful, I could pull my own.

 

I prefer a modular ceramic system bonded within a 2 part water activated matrix.

(re birds and wind turbines...I think all our domestic cats already do way more damage to wild bird populations....and the ones that do sit on the spinning blades will help to remove the "likely to sit on spinning blades" gene from the pool )
