I was just at walmart. Yes, I must stop going there. But, I really didn't feel like going anywhere and walmart is literally right across the street. I am 6 months pregnant and was craving chocolate mint cookies. But that's besides the point. So I paid for my cookies. Then the cashier asked the guy that was standing nearby if she could help him. Nervously, he said, "I need the register." She replied, "Yeah, you can pay here." Then he said, "No. I need the register." I turned around and he was just giving her a blank dead stare. I started walking quickly....erm waddled to the exit. This was in the back of the store where there's a register for the automotive section and that door automatically locks. I tried to open the door and it was locked, but then it suddenly opened. I got out of there. Do you think I just witnessed a robbery or did I mishear him?.. I could have been shot. Maybe he didn't wanna shoot a pregnant hippy. I think that was my 6th near death experience. Anything like this ever happen to anyone here?
I got caught in a rip tide when I was young and probably should have drowned. Coming from the mountains, we didn't know about rips and stuff in the ocean. I remember we were close to beach then suddenly miles out. My mum grabbed me and said just swim! Swim! So I swam straight up the middle and out. I though she was gone but someone swam out to help. Later I learned that I should have swim to the side and out not straight up the middle but I guess I was a fit swimmer then. Also had a car crash and a few horse falls where it's a 50/50 if I should still be alive maybe lol.
Have you heard anything in the news about a robbery yet? He might have been saying bathroom. I have had that blank dead stare while looking for a bathroom before.
I don't watch the news.. you think it'd be reported that quickly? I'll just see if anything comes up in the online newspapers tomorrow.
I think there's a life lesson to be learned in here somewhere. It's either, "Enjoy life and appreciate it because it can end in an instant" or "Don't buy cookies at walmart."
I'm sure some social media source will answer your question. Depends on how populated the area you live in is and how many other crimes there are to be reported on how quickly you'll find your answer. In a place like where I live, it'd be all over Facebook like immediately, but it's a pretty little area without much news.
I see local breaking news on the web and tv pretty fast. Sometimes in a few hours. Even if they don't have details yet, they send out teasers.
I don't live in a large city. That's probably why I see stuff so quickly. Robberies don't happen often here.
you may have possibly witnessed a crime, but it's not clear that you were in any danger. the robber (if he was indeed a robber) may not have been armed even if he had been armed, he probably wouldn't have shot anyone. robberies happen all the time, usually no one is shot or killed. even if the robber shot someone, it probably wouldn't have been you. maybe the cashier, if the cashier had resisted. you may want to go back and check if there was in fact a robbery, if the guy was caught and you want to testify, or if the cops need a description of the suspect. my guess is they may have security cam pics of the guy though, or additional testimony against him is unnecessary.
You need to start to buy in quantity so that you do not have to go as often. Sounds a little freaky to be sure and I am glad that you are out of there and hopefully it was an innocent situation. If not hopefully he got the drawer and no one was hurt.
sounds like it might not have been that close of a call almost dying is more like falling on a stick that punctures your chest and comes 1/4 inch away from your lung. (even then i may have still lived) ...or getting hit by a car going 40 miles an hour. ...or getting beat up by three or four people, at least one of which continues to kick you after you're down.
Yeah, I've been through a few things where I literally should have died but I guess today still made me feel close to death. What if he had a gun, people robbing cash registers usually do have one.. What if I would have done one thing differently or stayed in that spot even longer...and Bang.
One of my biggest fears since I was a kid has been getting held up at gun point in a store or bank..it's a frightening thought. I still havn't found any police reports or anything about it..maybe tomorrow. What if I did mishear him.. but what else could, "I need the register" mean.. I didn't know if I should have called the police after I heard that.. didn't know what to do. Maybe I should have. I'm a horrible person. All I did was sit back and eat my cookies. x_x
just look across the street...if there is a police car they got robbed if there is no police he was probably the manager asking for some kind of register sheet they use
I actually don't live in a nice area. There are police sirens all the time and I didn't even think to listen for that.. He was not an employee or manager. He actually looked shady and kinda inconspicuous while he nervously asked for the register..
