........People are so dumbed down and out of it now!!!!!! I cant believe how many times I have the stupidist calls on my scanner THE LAST TWO YEARS!! (I listen to the sheriff) Calls about someones 'out of control 6 year old/10 year old' in the residence,etc........ WHAT THE ???????????? WHAT ARE THE POLICIA SUPPOSED TO DO ABOUT IT??? PEOPLE CANNOT HANDLE THIER OWN KIDS ANYMORE?? I tell ya,there is no hope.......... THEY BOTHER THE POLICIA ABOUT EVERY LITTLE THING NOW!!!!!!! (Like they got nothing better to do)
Dude. Like, yeah. I see what you're saying though. It's bee a while since I've had a scanner to have a listen to, but around here there'd probably be less of that and more domestic disturbance/abuse, reports of shots fired, etc etc. Have to take into account too though, parents being accused of being abusive. Everything is so contradictory these days. To every statement it seems there is a point that could be argued about. Gotta love those commercials about controlling your children though. "Bobby used to be such a problem child, but now that we used (insert brand name here), our family has been better than ever!"
I used to work with families involved with law enforcement for out of control kids referred by juvenile probation to our agency. Rough cases and I don't know for sure if there is any one problem I could put my finger on that could create a unifying common thread for all of them. They were all unique in the stressors and factors that put them into services. As for the little ones being out of control, much of that is a cry for attention, although negative. Parents don't have time or make time to do fun things and enjoy their children as much as would be ideal. Family game night, making dinner together, going to a show or something together, even once a week, is out of the question. Horribly sad.
parental egos. kids, even non-human creatures, learn from examples they witness and experience. very rarely the parents are completely innocent. its the culture too. is a balance possible to achieve? i don't know. parents afraid to discipline their kids for public or legal censure vs parents getting away with murder. worse of course, is a culture where we have both at the same time. somewhere at the very root, is the kind of stories we tell ourselves and each other. that is at the foundation of culture. where people get the idea this is what everyone does or doesn't. coyote was a trickster, a joker, with god like powers, but even these couldn't keep him from getting himself in trouble. that made him the lesson of what not to do. people learn their culture from their stories. what kind of stories are we being told now? generation after generation after generation. stories from a corporate media to keep corporate hands in our pockets. so we have a culture that doesn't care what we're doing to ourselves by what we are doing to our world. that's where you'll find the root of this.
