BTW-- Willy's most famous song, "Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain", was actually written in the 1940's by Fred Rose.

    The sound of bursting balloons?

The Singin' Brakeman? Hell, I have 2 collections of his greatest hits. I have an extensive CD collection of early country and blues singers-- Charlie Patton? Blind Boy Blake? The Mississippi Sheiks? Ernie Tubb? (Who I actually shook hands with and photographed holding my 3 year-old son).Robert Johnson? Patsy Cline, Hank and Lefty? Hell, yes!

We get down serious out here in McMullen's Hollow!

(Sometimes we even listen to Mozart and Bach, too.)

If not for Clapton and The Stones, most people would never have heard of Johnson. Clapton did a special of just Johnson music at the same building in Texas where Johnson recorded at. He said that it took him 2 weeks of constant practice just to be able to play ONE of Johnson's songs. He admitted that he usually has another guitar player to help him. The first time I heard Johnson play "Preacher Blues", I was utterly floored-- it sounded like 2 players at once, 2 tempos, 2 melody lines. I used to play classical and flamenco guitar until the arthritis kicked in, but in my best days I couldn't imagine picking like that-- same with Blind Blake. Maybe he did sell his soul to Satan.
