at any rate, it's up to you. do what you feel is right. i'm hardly one to judge, nor are most of the people here. but just think how much more right you'll feel. buy some stamps from a machine with some cash, put it in an envelope and mail it from whatever city you're in now if you're afraid of getting caught, which i think you are.
i've never made anything to sell, i gave everything away. i tend to do that. i did find a nifty little box i was gonna send to cate, but joey got in my stuff and broke it. it wasn't worth much, but i felt pretty upset about that.
i'm not afraid of getting caught. you can't get arrested for a theft under $50. i just don't know the name of the store and i don't feel as bad about it now that i have seen so many other shops just like the one i was in along the way. another bead i had before fell out of my hair and got lost today. strangeness.
yeah, i paint on wood and make jewelry. i've never sold a thing. thought about it, but never could bring myself to, i don't know why.. i just love making stuff and giving it to my delighted friends.
well, i had enough to get a $30 motel room tonite for me and the bf. i don't feel poor but i certainly don't feel rich. we've been sleeping on peoples' floors/couches and camping mostly.
i used to do ceramics a lot. my raku handbuilt items were pretty awesome. they got snatched right up. some of the more scultural items stuck to bowls and stuff were pretty cool, too. i could make awesome character faces. i think i should get back into that someday. i really liked it. some of the stuff i gave away was clearly only wanted for sentimentality. the early stuff is just SHITTY. and some i really funny. my mom snatched up the "gravy boat of fertility." i hadn't gotten laid in quite a while, i didn't realize how much is showed. i should take a picture of it, it's HILARIOUS. one of my first items, so, awful, and clearly indicative of someone in need of sex. she has it displayed in the living room.
when i'm just with dave, getting by as cheaply as possible is fun. when we're with the kids, not so much.
it's a good one, i like it. just think, the loss of one bead is a small price for someone to pay, right? hopefully.
oh PLEASE post a picture of your fertility gravy boat. you should do an entire dinner set. my early painting is not that great, but it isn't sloppy - just not too creative. i'm proud of my new stuff, though. and my jewelry is looking good, i can't wait to start that back up when i get to austin. if anything it saves money on gifts during the holidays, and everything's personalized.
no, i'm technically homeless for the next few months ( by choice, to save money and see the sights and work on music ).
i know, it's great. damn kids suck up all your resources... maybe this feeling of remorse and pledge to not steal is going to save me or someone else from a world of shit.
opal and silver, 36 bucks for a precious stone with a precious metal,, yeah way over priced.. i cant stand people who marginalize things to justify doing something wrong.. seems a thief has always got a reason why it was OK. the whole it was a corporation, not a individual" is a prime example.. and here its, "it was overpriced", "they were kinda mass produced", "it wasnt the lady who owned the store who made it". i wont even go into what i think about the lame excuses for not returning the thing.. hey using your logic and being your traveling the country you can just steal something you think is overpriced in every town you go through and then feel guilty the next town over and still not have to do anything about it because your not there anymore.. glad ya aint comin to my town.all the lil tourist traps here are consignment stores, that one probably was as well. that lady is gonna have to explain to the artisan why she doesnt have any money to give them for that "overpriced" work of art that you thought was so cool you had to steal it.. good job..
i do like that stuff the best. i really like to put together packages of cheap but pretty and cool shit i've found while browsing antique stores and stuff for a few close friends. i haven't done it in a long while, though. my accumulations are cooler than my creations. though i did have a ceramics knack.
haha i swear you read every thread on these forums. that's the truth though. that's why stalk got banned.
