I saved some birds, for now, but I need help keeping them alive. Here's a link to my post in Pets and Animals... I don't want them to die before I can take them somewhere. http://www.hipforums.com/forums/showthread.php?p=59512#post59512
Awww....thanks, bird. Do you know anything about them? They're blue jays. They're sweet. I named them Tim and Jeff.
Aww that's beautiful! I was just thinking about Jeff, don't know why! Honeysuckleblue had a thread about taking care of some baby birds, I think it is in her personal forum.
Good luck with your birds!! everytime I have ever tried to save a damn bird, i have failed. So, I have no advice on how to take care of them.
mom and i raised some baby blue birds about a year ago. we called a bird refuge thing and asked what to do with them. they said feed them moistened (with water) dry dog food every few hours and keep them warm. ours survived, and we let them go. it was very cool.
No, just Centennial... In Nashville. Jeff died... he had a broken leg. Neither of them will eat. None of the emergency places will take Tim, they want me to wait until the Wildlife place opens tomorrow.. I hope he makes it. I feel like such a failure already...
Every place I've ever lived has a 'bird man or women' who will take birds and nurse them to health. The trick is asking the right person who may know of such a person or place.---I found a baby sparrow hawk on my front porch one morning--I asked a cop if he knew of a place that would take it---found out there was a really great place here---they took the bird and asked me my address so they could release it back in the same place it was born.I've since taken a few there.Ask around-----------scratcho-----------
when i was little, my cat attack a bird in my yard. i brought the bird inside, and placed her in my doll house and tried to 'heal' her back to normal... she died soon after
