Personally, for myself, it's about the cruelty. I do support organazations such as Farm Aid - who are anti-factory farming and they aid small farms and farmers who don't have enough money to keep the farm going and factory farms... I do support free range for people who still think they can't quit eating certain things - like my mom's friend who is a vegetarian but due to all of the small free-range farms and organic farms, she buys milk and cheese from them and the produce market down the road instead of being vegan or going to wal-mart and buying it... I'd rather have them do that than support factory farms like that. I'm vegan though but I believe people who buy from small farms are better off than ones who buy from big farms... Not only that, but because of health issues - that's also another reason I support vegism.
Intresting link, but I don't buy it. Totally agree with George I'm veggie for many reasons, my inital reasoning was the cruelty of factory farms and slaughter houses. Then the more I considered it, the less sense my [omni] diet made. It totally contradicts my mindset and food prefferences. There are now spiritual factors, but that's a newer development. The health aspect has never really concerned me. After all I was perfectly healthy before. It's just rather reassuring to read/hear about health scares related to meat and know that it's not my problem.
