Ah yes, Portuguese... we had a foreign exchange student that spoke it, and it is so similar to Spanish I think I could consider it Spanish sub "B"... or something. I took a semester of German. Too harsh for me. I took 6 years (And one semester in junior high)of Spanish, 1 year of Greek studies, 3 years of Latin, and have been around French speakers, and think I could handle that if I set out to. I still don't feel fluent in any of these, but I feel I could get by if need be. Oh, and Spanish was pretty simple to me too. I really think once you learn one of the romance languages, it is extremely easy to learn others because the rules are very similar. It just makes sense. The thing with English is that is seems it can be understood even if it isn't spoken properly. However, there are so many odd variances as well as slang terminology that can make it difficult to study. Easy enough to be able to get by and be understood, yet to be able to write and speak it properly, I still know people that grew up in the US and haven't gotten it right... I think of all the languages I have encountered, English is the most loose... in that you can get away with more - straying from the formula, yet still be understood. BTW - you haven't offended me at all. I think it is fantastic to be able to share experiences with people from other cultures and locations. Many people claim their way is the best, which is true for them. I understand that. To each his/her own.
lol languages are awesome i saw yesterday 2 foreign hippy pals kissing in the bar called "woodstock" awesome! had to tell it anyway as im hangovered, i think its better as i type something tomorrow, not today
for gods sake no that language is weird Seriously, when Sara's parents walk in Ahaha, it sounds so odd... I really have to focus not to laugh
hmm, never heard that one I'm sure it's cool... But I think after a lil while, people'll just get used to that that's just the way it is... Altho I think it'd suck cause languages are funny
