I need to really start analyzing the situation before I try to be nice to someone

I'm gonna just leave a big pinata filled with candy in their break room and address it to him..

 

Filled with only minty mentos..and tic tacs...

 

What country sells chocolate mentos??

 

You may not think so (and I'd agree) but his emplyer might.

 

He's probably too nice and wants you to save your money. That's how I always am. People offer to be nice to me and I'm like, "No, that's ok." But what I mean is, "Don't put yourself out."

 

I probably come off as rude too. So when a customer gives me candy i just pass it along to my co-workers in case its poison.

 

So ur saying his employer poisons the candy that they sell right there at the register?

 

What are you talking about? I work at a bank. But customers do drop off candy from time to time.

 

I'm saying it's different because that candy is from outside. I was trying to purchase a candy for this guy right at his register.

 

I can't poison candy that quickly. But who knows.

I have worked at places where we were not supposed to accept things like that from customers, either. It's a strange world that we live in. But I would have been absolutely heart warmed by the kindness.

 

Maybe he got the beetus..

Hypothetically If the guy had an open beverage you could have dropped a few Mentos into his drink and well……………….

 

i'm really not a fan of candy. i don't dislike it, but i have to be in the right mood to actually want to eat it. so if someone randomly offered me some candy, there's a pretty good chance i would turn them down. or if i did accept, it would be reluctantly because i wanted to be polite.

but mentos is a different thing. if someone offered to buy me a mentos i would assume they're insulting my breath, and i might be a little rude back to them.

 

I'm a candy fiend! I can't stop at one piece though that's my downfall. I can't go hey I'll have two strawberry lollies, because I need more than two, I'll eat the whole bag. Same with cashews. Can't stop.

 

I might feel obligated to reciprocate if I accepted a gift from someone I didn't know. And I'd probably feel like you were hitting on me.
