It's a party island. There's a bunch of hippies as well. But it is really famous in the whole of Europe for the techno/trance/dance scene for over a decade!
Coolness! I actually know zero things about Ibiza lol. I might have to put that location on my bucket list.
I have the feeling it's kind of over it's heyday, but the 'supercool diehard original party people' were saying that 10 years ago already It is still as popular as ever with the party crowd. I don't really enjoy techno or the mainstream dance scene myself though
Paul Oakenfold going to Ibiza with a few other djs and dropping Ecstasy is one of the pivotal moments in Electronic Dance Music. That is the moment when electronic music really got it's feel. Prior to that, house music was mostly the remanants of disco and techno was considered mostly mechanical and devoid of any human signature. I really like Some of the Ibiza trance, it feels like it was a really special place in time. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CoeFMkYYll8&feature=youtube_gdata_player"]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CoeFMkYYll8&feature=youtube_gdata_player
My bucket list would have to include Goa India. It is the Ibiza of Goa music. But also like Ibiza the best days are probably in the past. But in the 80's and 90's it was a a special place.
If u never been there u should go.I went to ibiza for the first time in 2009 and I go every summer to work there

HI MAMA It's where the whole second summer of love started Back in the 80s Back in the day You look like a really young Nigella Lawson (she quite some babe) Lots of love Lottie
Im in Eu. The scene here is thriving UK: the new genres are born here, the freshest sounds playing every weekend. often has a very dark vibe to it tho. London and Bristol are the places you wanna visit. Germany: Berlin is the techno capital. and the xtc capital. You will find every kinda music here, every weekend. And lots of outdoor psytrance festivals summertime. Ibiza: summertime madness. party island house music, trance... Romania & Hungary : massive forest psytrance parties summertime, Ozora, Indian spirit festival.. etc.. Sweden, Finland: Sweden has some really good minimal techno. and some really cool psytrane festivals happening here. The weather sucks but the view is breathtaking. hardcore dancing to hard psytrance high on lsd in the middle of a forest while the aurora borealis is visible on the sky. Just amazing... Spain, Portugal: I dont really know, but those guys are very warm blooded people, they probably party really hard, especially cuz of the lax drug laws. Netherlands: Parting hard.. like the germans. Most of the imported drugs come from here. Many big artists come from here. some "oldschool" experimental dubstep vibes from UK. You can hear how diverse the scene is there: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=El1IByjZou0"]Ramadanman - Dubstep Allstars Vol. 7 [HD] - YouTube
This is some original house music: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QIdimVDuSEU"]Frankie Knuckles - The Whistle Song (Virgin Records 1991) - YouTube Devoid of any human signature? or listen to some Marshall Jefferson. That was before MDMA...
I was saying alot of the early techno was devoid of human signature, like this... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A-yWbVAocyg"]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A-yWbVAocyg Doing a quick wiki search of Marshall Jefferson, MDMA was already being criminalized in the US by the time he started releasing records.. MDMA was probably being used in the US before house music even existed. Cocaine was still a really prominent drug in clubs then though and from what I gather, initially MDMA was primarily used in gay clubs or by affluent yuppies and there wasn't really this sense of widespread cohesive community like after the rave scene started. Although some of those early house records definitely pointed towards the direction of things to come.
Germany is close to Belgium and Holland so the drugs will always flow. Those two countries probably produce most of the drugs in Europe. Dark wave is huge in Germany too I guess. Like Gothic techno, VNV Nation, Apoptygma Berserk, bands like that. I have seen VNV a few times and they put on a great show, really nice guys. Although the dark lyrics were not as much my thing, I prefer the happy stuff.
A deviation from the EDM but this song is so powerful and uplifting when rolling... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QEqOOl48x2k"]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QEqOOl48x2k
