maybe she just got tired of having to be hollywood thin and just said, fuck it, i'm going to eat the goddamn box of twinkies and the cookie dough. but now that shes older and her metabolism is slower, it stayed put a little more resiliently.
i saw that on TMZ. Thats just plain mean, shes so happy just having fun and all everyone wants to do is point at her flaws, they put so much pressure on the young actresses, you end up with coked out girls having breakdowns, hillary duff, mary-kate, britney, lindsey lohan, etc. skin and bones. thats the hottest look, half dead.
Women who are too thin *not anorexic* is about the same level of media introduced level of sadness as men who want to shave their whole bodies.
i think that the media influences women to be thin way more than it could possibly influence men to shave their whole bodies. but of course im not male, maybe im missing something.
really the sad part is that its socially accepted practice to critique women like that...i mean, really, its only girls and women who are at the center of the too thin/too fat issue. no one much cares about guy's weight, but god forbid a woman should be a little chunky or have tiny breasts.
we have enough pressure not being famous, imagine being out at the beach with your boyfriend and having a great time. and people come up to you and take your picture, and your kind enough to pose so they can make some money, and then they totally humiliate you. thats horrible.
No you're right. I'm just saying it's the same kind of dehumanizing element of 'your're not good enough' that's created to make people buy more stuff. The more unhappy you are, the more crap that has people with smiling faces on the ad that they think you'll buy. And to Fitz, theres nothing wrong with skinny women or men shaving if they want to. But women feeling they need to obsess about 5 pounds to be beautiful or men thinking they need to shave their legs to attract a mate is rediculous, and designed to create a society of unhappy consumerism.
If you ever want to be healthier and have a personality that people feel more completly captivated by then starring at models... Love yourself, and be completly liberated from any expectations on you. Do whatever you feel will really complete you, and know you're beautiful inside and out. It's not as easy as I make it sound. I'm not there yet. But I guarentee you, if you feel that way you will feel complete. And not because you have people drooling over pictures of you. Like Ghost brought up, do you really think people like Lohan are happy? Of course not. That's not life.
While women have fought for liberation and have proven to be our equals, they’re still sex objects and should be subject to critique h
haha. well i shall start a new trend then, and make men sex objects as well. girls, from now on we must judge the worth of our men based on the size of their penises. sound fair enough?
when it comes to sex appeal, we can be just as critical to men as they are to women, we just chose not to be.
Depends on who it is. I've always wondered what it would be like to be treated like a piece of meat by more women.
I'm sorry but I think the main reason why women aren't as critical of men as men are of them is that women are too busy criticizing each other. A group of girls sitting around will pick apart another woman's appearance far more viciously and hurtfully than any group of men could do. I think women are their own worst critics.
I'm not condoning sexual harassment. Not at all. And yeah. By a guy. 15 at the time. he was 30. And lot of women. They were friends though. and I've had dollar bills stuffed down my pants. By women too. That wasn't really a problem though. I'm just explaining that I'd think it was kinda freaky and fun to have a woman judge me more verbally once in a while. Yell shake it on the street and stuff. I'm not comparing that to actual sexual harassment by any means.
