I think that Naturalhi is refering to the Lost Coast of California. Its a bit near the Mendocino triangle. Wonderful place. Rural/tourist living.

Well yeah Vancouver is a great choice, but also look at the other parts of BC, like Kelowna. It's a smaller town, very beautiful though, it's got just about everything you mentioned, but it is a little more conservative politically. It's a really popular summer destination for tourists and stuff, Okanagan lake is right there, and right now jobs are BOOMING. Everywhere in Kelowna (and I'm not exagerrating - I would say 1/2 of businesses AT LEAST) are hiring. Cost of living (rent) is a little high, but it all depends on where you choose to live. Check out BC in general, you'll find cool people and cool towns all over BC.

Oh on the weather thing... this whole past week we basically have had 35-40 degree weather (Celsius), so it's been real summer weather already. it does get fairly cold in winter, i'm not gonna lie... vancouver has a much more consistent climate (rain).

I doubt it's very hard to get citizenship, policies between USA and Canada have always seemed pretty slack about it. Like digitaldj said, it's more of a time process... and you get to attend a sweet citizenhip ceremony lol.

if you are interested in staying in american i would really reccomend portland, oregon. it definitley has everything you listed as far as stores, and the weed is primo up there. medical marijuana is legal in oregon, and possession of less than one ounce is a misademor not punishable by any jail time. so it's very progressive as far as the united states goes.

and right outside the city there are more than 75 miles of state and federal parks to hike, bike, backpack, and climb on.
