Before I was struck down with arthritis (I have metal hips and metal knees) I used to make my own 'country' wines - nettles, gorse flower, dandelions, elder flower, elderberry, blackberry, parsnip - to name but a few.
Sounds like an interesting hobby. My fave hobby is mountain biking. Whenever i get the time i go to Delamere Forest with my friends, we go on the dirt tracks and over rough ground, it's great fun! Seen quite a few pro riders up there too.
It hasn't been unknown for me to lay on my settee watching television with a gallon demijohn of wine on the floor beside my head and my syphon tube connecting me to the jug.

I kept tropical fish for years ,I had a 3 ft tank .and a 4ft tank ,I used under gravel filter with power head pumps thus using the gravel itself as the filtration system ,I also stocked the tank with real live plants ,the hobby is true delight ,and reasonably low mainatainace ,and cheap enough ,once its all set up ,yu can even go on holiday for a couple of weeks ,and it all takes care of itself ,the only thing with it is , that ideally you need a car ,for transporting fish from the shop in those small bags ,I don't have a car anymore mwhich is prob why I don't have a fishtank now ,but I often think about getting one ,as a fishtank is a wonderfull thing to have in your livingroom ,
