yup. I have nothing better to do than sit on the internet these days. and I never sleep. so yeah, 24/7 non stop.
Well, your the man! and now that I have essays to write and need to procrasinate, I think I will find myself on here more and more. Hipfora needs more folks like you
gosh that was awfully nice of you, I thought you were going to rip on me for being such a nerd. I like you too, Bear's Vagina, you've made me laugh a lot.
they handed playing cards to people who went backstage at ACL. my boo and i both got 8's.... or should i say infinities.
lastnight I bought a 6pack of Miller Genuine Draft Light and was disgusted. It's only like 60-something calories and is just... very watered downed beer.
light beers are simply beer brewed with a lower concentration of ingredients. in order to have less calories, it has to be made with less malt. but the sugars from the malt are what the yeast eat, the when they eat the sugars their waste is carbon dioxide and alcohol. so if you use less malt, theres less sustinance for the yeast, and with less food for the yeast there will be less alcohol. light beers are the one of the most rediculous scams there are. you're right, it really is pretty much watered down beer. its cheaper to make light beers. then the company just says "this is the same beer, with far fewer calories!" and charge the same price. they make more money. and it does have fewer calories, but takes more to produce the same effect, and in many (MANY) cases people drink to get at least a slight buzz, if nothing else. so you pay the same amount, but its cheaper for them to make, and it doesnt get you drunk anywhere close to as quickly...... its a crock of shit. drink regular beers:cheers2: i'm thinking i might actually grab a 6 of some cheap macro today. maybe pbr or something. i haven't seen strohs here at all though
john, i'm not trying to make you jealous, but i'm loving it here. this little bitty town has two very nice breweries, which all bars and restaraunts here like to carry (except dry restaraunts) bloomington brewing company and upland brewery. i liked the upland saison a lot, but i think its gone for now. they have an oktoberfest out i havent tried though. like only 2 blocks from my dorm is a nice sized bar, and one of the more affordable bars in town from what i hear. their liquor selection isn't great, but they have around 150 beers from pbr and something called "old style" to chimay, unibroue, delirium tremens, and all sorts of good english, belgian, and german beers and tons of micros. alpha king and stone ipa on tap, bottles of old rasputin.... and on sundays, all domestic craft beers on tap are a buck off! i got a pint of stone IPA for under three bucks last night, same with a pint of alpha king! their pricing is wierd sometimes though. costs less for a 12oz la fin du monde than for a 12oz grolsch. they fucked that one up, i think. then again, grolsch is unnecessarily expensive. anyway, i'm loving it man. one of the better beer selections i've seen in a bar before, reasonable prices, and VERY easy walking distance!:cheers2: sorry, dont mean to gloat or anything!
No way I dont get jealous Colin, Im very happy for you! We all have our times to shine  When I was living in Philly, there was a place with several hundred amazing beers, the entire store was singles wall to wall on all 4 walls, and cases in the middle of absolutley every beer you can imagine. Now, my beer selection is embarassing. But it comes and goes God Bless +
