I'm not sad at all. I got on my knee's and prayed for GW to win
    the election.
He wasn't my first choice, but Ted Nugent wasn't running.
Kerry was the worse candidate since Al Gore!

sad thing is, that Bush just asked for another 70 billion in/on iraq, that would bring the total to over 500 Billion, That could do a lot of good at home....

The People need candidates that will do what The People want. we're working with the Kinky Friedman campaign in Texas; hopefully Kinky will oust 'Bush's back pocket boy' from the governor's office (Rick Perry who orginally gained the governor's office by Bush winning the presidential race...this guy is doing campaign ads on how much money he's put into education when more money was spent on special sessions for school finance than actually went to the schools!) Thought about starting a 'Somebody for President' campaign in 2004, but we weren't on the net yet (Kinda hard to start a nation-wide campaign from an off-the-grid retired schoolbus!)

Nothing but scrapping the entire system and starting over will effect change in these Divided States of Confusion. A politician can have the best of intentions (there are a few), but by the time (s)he gets to Washington, (s)he's made a lot of promises and a lot of compromises. And it gets worse from there. About this time of the year politicians start to get antsy and wanna get out of DC to start campaigning for their next term. Good luck seeing any substance for a while.

    1st: revolt

    2nd: anarchy

    3rd: reform

    4th: improved system

    Any questions?

Yeah, I have a question. In steps 1 & 2, about how many people will die?

    Ideally- none. Realistically- no idea.

Think of this though, how many are wrongly imprisoned now? Wrongly executed? Imprisoned for inconsequential drug crimes? Defrauded of their livelihoods by politicians? Sent to die in foreign countries to help the administration save face? Etc.

Look, I don't have all the answers. I just know the system we have now is fucked. And we're fucked along with it.

Yeah, it's that reality thing again ...Revolt - violence isn't the answer and it simply won't work, there's many more of them, they have more & bigger guns and they won't hesitate to use them. Anarchy - is one of the things I fear most. With anarchy would come a break down in the transportation system, therefore no food distribution, in 3 to 5 days people would be killing their neighbors for a can of beans so their kids can eat, in 4 to 6 weeks mass starvation.

But I fully agree with all you said about the wrongly imprisoned, executed, defrauded and sent to die. All that and more, so much more.

And I, also, don't have all the answers. Hell, I don't even know all the questions. But I think most of us agree, lots of big changes are needed. And, like I said back up in post#18 of this thread, the only way I see the needed changes happening is by getting some like minded folks elected. Over the past 40 or so years we've been mostly fighting a defensive battle. We've kept things from being as bad as they otherwise would have been. But to make the kind and size changes needed to reverse things, I think we'll have to get some folks on the inside.

    Peace,
    poor_old_dad

the revolution is an internal one..within ourselves..
change how we dothings sothe systems obsolete
anarchy is not chaos, but a way to work together for the common good
there wouldnt be a breakdown that wiyuld cause starvation if we all worked together to ensure we have food

True, that money is not going to the correct place. Most of it will end up in the hands of the US military and Halliburton. It belongs to the people of Iraq, and they're owed alot more than money.

you know, Ken Kesey was the keynote speaker at a politcal rally one time. He gave the best advice for dealing with the political morass we live in: "you know, sometimes you just gotta turn your back and say 'fuck it'."

    DEAR STONEY:
I FEEL THE SAME WAY, BROTHER, IT'S VERY DISGUSTING, AND THE POLITICS IN MARYLAND, IS ATROCIOUS, TO SAY THE LEAST. I CAN'T WAIT TO GET OUT OF BABYLON, SICK AND DISGUSTING, THEY'RE SHOOTING AT THE TREE SITTERS OUT IN THE NORTH, THE FISH ARE ALMOST GONE, AND WHAT'S NEXT WITH THE BUSHITES'S.
WE REALLY NEED TO START MORE COP-OPS AND FALL AWAY FROM THE SYSTEM, GROW OUR OWN FOOD, AND ALTERNATIVE ENERGY FOR OURSELVES, UNLESS WE DO THIS, IT'S ALL HEYYY? ARE ALL OF YOU FEELING WHAT I'M FEELIN. I'M LIKE WORKING ALL OF THE TIME, AND WE CANNOT KEEP PREACHING TO THE QUIRE LIKE HAROLD COURTRIGHT USE TO SAY. HAS ANYONE SEEN HAROLD, IS HE BACK IN THE STATES OR STILL UP IN CANADA. WHAT IS GOING ON?? WHAT IS GOING ON??? AS MARVIN GAYE USE TO SING. MISS YOU, STONEY, AND EVERY BODY.
    LOVE LINDA

I feel the same way.. :/ but at least we're feeling bad about it, instead of good or neutral or ignorant.. maybe spreading the word of our worries and questions is a first step to change? create more consciousness.. sorry if I'm not making any sense, it's late here :)
    much love to everyone

I personaly want soaring eagle as our president. And I think that the only way to truly beat the "man" is to become the man. As much as most of us here dispise 'em, we have to take over the mountain before we can fix the stream.
