Did you renew your license online and printout your temporary card (until your new license comes in the mail) or did you renew at the DMV? And did they ask you about giving the "Gift of Life” by donating your organs if you total the vehicle and yourself Hotwater
Walked Into The DMT Office To Renew It, And Now That You Mention It, There Was No "Organ Consent" Box To Be Ticked On The Form... Cheers Glen. EDIT:- In Australia You Cannot Do It Online, You Have To Present Yourself In Person And Do An Eyesight Test.
Because you only have to have your eyes tested once every 10 years, you can renew online. :2thumbsup: Regarding the organ donation it's a standard question at the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) Hotwater
I have a liscense which I renew when I have to, but I don't drive. Make sense of that...other drivers scare me, and I don't have the confidence for it........but congrats to all renewed liscenses here and to the drivers.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xuZA6qiJVfU"]The Cars - Drive (OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO) - YouTube
Did you pass the eye test? My daddy is 65 and NSW and he was really worried he'd get tested and we said so what, just wear your glasses. And he's like "you can wear them?" Lolz. Dads, eh.
Glad you reminded me. I have to check mine i dont know how long a renewal last here. The old jersey liscences used to have all your organs on the back with a box to check if you want to donate. I havnt seen anywhere to donate since they stopped that. Just checked...im good till 2017 i dont remember renewing it. Dont know how long it lasts. Just know im good.
In Ohio they have you renew your drivers license every three years now. Another way for the state to make more money I guess. You have to go to DMV and take an eye test and they also take your picture that is on the license. I had to do mine last November. I did not have to fill out new forms though. I am listed as an organ donor. Dad no longer drives (not for the year and a half). I took him there earlier this month to get his ID, which looks very similar to a license, picture and all.
Unfortunatly I Sorta Flunked It....Left Eye Perfect, Right Eye Needs A Cataract Operation, So In Australia Tis OK To Drive A Car Or Motorbike With Only One Good Eye, But I Held A Truck And Bus License And That Means Both Eyes Have To Pass The Test. So My License Got Downgraded Until After My Operation Then It Will Revert To It's Previous Status.... Cheers Glen.
Totally Forgot To Mention In My OP That The Photo On Todays License Makes Me Look Way Younger Than The Pic Taken 5 Years Ago...:2thumbsup:. My Face Looks Younger And Because Of Newer Cameras My Dreads Came Out Clearly Rather Than Just Appearing As A Bunch Of Hair... Cheers Glen.
Last summer I had a cataract operation in both eyes. The doctor said I am OK to drive without wearing glasses, although I do wear them to drive. Testing at the DMV indicated that I had to wear the glasses. I think their eye testing equipment sucks.
I Tend To Agree, Even Wearing Glasses Which I Do Not When I Drive, The Eye Chart Did Not Work Below The Second Bottom Line, Yet Everything In The Room Was Crystal Clear... Cheers Glen.
if i ever get another vehicle, something i'm not overly fond of contemplating, i'll need to do this. its been more then a decade since i got rid of the last one i had. i did this because at the time i had a wife who insisted i driver her around in cities where i do not believe cars belong. i am only forced to consider doing so, because i live in a land where trains and buses, while the do exist, will only take me to a tiny fraction of the places i would like to be able to go. those which are a bit far to walk. as in between 50 and 500 miles. google's camera truck doesn't quite go to a lot of them either. though it is adiquite for seeing quite a bit. onfurtunately it isn't streets and cities i'm all that interested in seeing.
Peeps You All Appear To Have Missed The Point Of This Thread.... The Point Of The Thread Was.......Was I Being "Overly Optimistic" By Buying A 5 Year License, In Other Words, I Was Looking For Replys Predicting What Would Expire First........ Me......Or The License....????? Cheers Glen.
I got mine renewed last year and the amount of documentation I had to bring this time was ridiculous. I've held a license in this state since 1976 but it's the first time that l had to bring: Birth Certificate Social Security Card 2 Proofs of Address Marriage Certificate (I've been married since 1999) It's called "Secure ID". Thank You Homeland Security. When it's time to renew again, I don't know if I'll even be able to find all these documents.
