I just love being able to record my television programs and fast forwarding through the ads. Advertising is just so fucking invasive these days, so it is nice to watch some tv and not have the commercials all in my face.
I don't watch tv very much but if I do...I like to watch PBS or maybe the couple of stations that show the old tv shows that existed before concepts like "product placement". Maybe that antique show. If I'm completely bored with nothing to do, I might watch some old cowboy movies. I could do without a tv though. I doubt I would notice it being gone.
Yeah advertising sucks. I don't have a TV as such but I watch movies etc on my computer so I can understand the joy of skipping the ads! Sx
it's nice to have the option. ads really don't bother me that much though. maybe they would if i watched more tv; i currently watch rarely enough that i don't really see the same ad over and over, which is when it gets annoying.
