Has your doctor said anything about setting you up an appointment with a nutritionalist? If not, you might want to look into one that has experience with diabetics. They might be able to help you with snack options, meal plans, things like that so that you don't feel so restricted.
Haha, I take midnightsnacks sometimes and have diabetes as well (for 3 years now). You just have to watch your bloodsugarlevel (or how you call it in english) and see what you can eat. It goes almost automatic after a year. I don't really have advise for you yet, but it's really true every diabetic have to find out what works best for him/her. I have the luck that my bloodsugarlevel is really stabile and thus easy to control. If you eat healthy you still can drink too much in the weekends and light one up. Just keep on moving and living your life with joy and you'll get used to it! Edit: Yeah, going to a specialist and a few times to a nutritionalist who can give you info about what to eat and what not (too often) is really recommended!
