I heard my first Grateful Dead song three days ago. It blew my mind.

that's a fair enough personal opinion, but too suggest that the only reason why the Grateful Dead had far greater success than Quicksilver did is because they played the acid tests is a pretty assinine statement.

Well, that awsome that you've heard The Dead! touch of grey is...well yeah, very refreshing. the music is soo up beat and happy. The dead blew my mind too...still do. You should try to find the song Sugar magnolia, its a very upbeat & happy song too(one of my favorites)

If I had the the right softwere to record I would have no problem doing it. But I don't see how my musical level would effect how good someone else is. Considering a lot of people who listen to music have opinons about music and don't play anything. And I'm only criticizing their hype. I already stated that I enjoy their music from time to time and think garcia is a good player just not a god type player.

Mabey because of his personality. He was a very cool person and I enjoy that about him.

 

You either like Jerry Garcia's playing or you don't. I think his style just catches some people's ear and other people not so much.

 

To me, its more than just his personality. Its the fact that on Jerry's worst night ever he still better then any other player. Its the fact that he sings every song with more emotion than any other singer. Its the fact that he was simply the greatest, and nobody will ever compare to him. Its the fact that Jerry & The Grateful Dead had something that nobody else had.
