No Way In The World That Would Have Worked For Me...:).

The Idea Of Working From The Roots, Is To Work Out The Sections

    Before You Rip.

As I Said, I Ripped About Twenty, But One Had The Feel That Three

Sections Had Congo'd, So I Ripped One, Then Ripped Again.

The Result Was Three Equal Sized Dreads...[IMG]

    Cheers Glen.

if you don't want any congos, you have to ripp the dreads. Yes, it will damage your hair, but not more than what you have already done. And if you decide to comb out, you can always cut the damaged hair.

If you think it's about right and wrong, then you are doing it wrong :D

I've always ripped mine from the tip to the root. Never even thought about the other way. I love that noise though when you rip 2 apart that really got know each other. Ahhhh.

And your worried about damaging your hair incase you comb out???
Your letting/forcing your hair to "knot" up in a rope like fashion. Maybe the dreadessesies are not the best idea to avoid damage.
