Lots of great advice here for you. True friends are very rare through life, people come and go and who you think is important now you probably wont even remember 5 or 10 years from now. I can not really add anything more than what others have said before me but try not to let shit like this get you down.
I'm not saying fit in necessarily. But maybe he doesn't bathe enough, so no one talks to him. Maybe he looks like he's on the verge of tears all the time. I'm just saying try to eliminate some of what's keeping people away from him if he wants to make friends.
No one at my school likes me because I am white and 95% of them are spanish and black. Also I like rock and they like rap.
You should take pride in your uniqueness and ignore what they think. Plus, there's more to friendship than just ethinicity and music. Just be yourself and eventually you'll meet up with like minded people. There's plenty of good advice on this thread for you to put into action. Good luck.
My high school was only 8% white, and I was a real quiet dude, and I found a couple friends (of multiple colors) Just find people to talk to during class, and start off as class friends and go from there =P Oh, and I agree with Monkey Boy. Be proud of yourself. Every since I've started liking myself, most everyone seems to agree. Before I was just the quiet kid =P
just because they aren't white doesn't mean they all like rap. be friendly and don't make assumptions like this. go to the library, lots of interesting, open-minded people there. do some after-school activites.
Kids can be quite cruel and unaccepting. I know it's hard to fit into a place where you feel like you don't belong. Really as corny as it sounds, just be yourself and be pleasant to everyone around you. Don't change for others but do keep an open mind, if they like rap maybe there is a song or two that you like and you can relate to them.
neither did i, for the most part. the point is, rap is the current "pop" music, and high school kids tend to follow whatever that is. of course there will always be exceptions.
when i was starting high school the cool thing to like was boy bands. i must say that rap is definitely a step up....
good christ, that's disturbing. i'm pretty sure the height of the boy band movement was approximately my freshman year of high school, and even then, nobody in my school would admit to listening to them, except for the elementary school kids.
yeah, it would have been a few years before i started high school. britney and christina were getting really big too. i think it was pop rap that was starting to take off when i started hs. i don't know what the thing is nowadays but young people in texas can't seem to get enough of the club rap type shit.
