He’s right it costs a minimum of $100 dollars to upwards of $250 dollars to get a tooth pulled depending on the difficulty involved. Hotwater
Stop blaming president Obama He’s merely fulfilling the dying wish of former Massachusetts Senator Ted Kennedy whose lifelong dream of universal healthcare for all has finally been realized :2thumbsup: God bless the President and God bless America Hotwater
they told me it was 10,000 bucks to pull all four of my wisdom teeth, but with the insurance that I had at the time I would have had to pay one thousand. therefore I still have my wisdom teeth and the tooth that I have that is broken may or may not be a wisdom tooth. Its in the very very back
i find it interesting that some of us americans seem to be defending the system. even pressed rat! let's take piaf's country for example. i believe the entire population is around 4.3 million. the united states has about 314 million, with more people in one city than in all of croatia. so you can probably imagine that we have different situations to overcome when it comes to healthcare. not agreeing with obama care. i'm lucky to be insured through my work, and my wife through hers. i'm even on her dental plan...score
i have insurance + a HSA through work (dental and eye care are separate products, but i have those as well) so far, i've never used it. i've paid out of pocket for medical expenses the past 3 years. just cheaper that way. the less i pay into the system, the better.
when you say you have insurance, do you mean you have the option to pay for insurance through your work, but you choose to pay out of pocket because it's cheaper?
i pay for insurance, i have a high deductible plan, so unless a real medical emergency arises, i have no reason to actually use the insurance as routine check ups and such will never get me past the deductible. so it's cheaper to find people who will do these sorts of check ups without involving insurance...granted, i know people int he medical field being that boston is a medical hub, so i ahve that working for me. make sense?
yes, the high deductible explains it. so how much does a regular check up cost you? an appointment with my primary doctor, i won't be charged for. but a visit to a specialist or anyone i get referred to is like a 10 or 20 dollar co-pay, the insurance pays the rest.
Mine is like yours Porkstock. We do a co pay thing for specialists as well, the basic and extra insurance covers the rest, I also have 12 chiro and 12 massages per year, any over that I have to pay for. I used to get my coverage free from my job but I pay for it now because I am self employed but it's not that expensive because I added life and home insurance as well. I bought my home insurance through them, (a separate branch away from the mortgaging company) so when I paid the house off the insurance would still count so now it's just a clean cash out to my family if I die, they gonna like me lots then haha. THEY WANT ME DEAD! I know it. Sometimes a package deal is worth having if it brings all costs down rather then dealing with separate companies and paying in full for little packages. I heard my deal isn't offered anymore so gonna hang onto it and sit in the grandfather clause as long as I can.
Through hubbys work I have dental, vision and medical. My medical insurance just got A LOT better in the last couple years. Let's say it this way, for my previous pregnancy I had to pay (with insurance thru hubby's work) $920 for prenatal care PLUS was billed a little over 2 grand for the delivery/anesthia, etc. Now...with this pregnancy I have found out that I owe absolutely zero for prenatal care AND absolutely zero for delivery and all charges involved in that. So, I am pretty happy w the insurance.
