i dont shop for electronics..lol how about boots and shoes, power and hand tools, lawn implements both power and hand, kitchen utensils and appliances, camping equipment, assorted other sporting goods and the list goes on and on.. these are things you buy to last and if they dont fucking last what good are they?
dont try and tell me walmart boots are comparable to red wings or rockies or that a poulan is comparable to a sthil or that coleman is comprable to north face etc. etc. wal mart sells cheap shit cheap. you get what you pay for.
hippiehillbilly, would a pro' or semi pro' go into wal-mart and expect to pick up pro' equipment? I doubt it. It is for the screaming masses, hippiehillbilly. Yes, you do get want you pay for. It is debateable it is "cheap shit"...that just sounds like a snipe...for shits and jollies.
no wal mart causes me to have a serious attitude right down to the self check out. if i gotta check myself out and bag my own shit i outta get a 10% discount.. only reason we went in there was to check the prices on jars and lids..
its cheap shit and i am not a pro. i am a homeowner on a budget who needs shit to not fall apart on me after a couple uses.i need the most bang for my buck. dave knows what im talkin about dont ya dave?
What I meant was, you probaly need pro' or semi pro gear...because you are workin' the land properly. The general masses that go buy some "working boots" etc...arn't going to be doing half the crap you do. Unless that is in Wal-Mart they advertise their apparel as if it is upto the challenge. I just red a few reviews of Herman Survivor boots...and it was mixed. Some said they were fantastic, had them for years, no problem. Others said, god darn they are shit and fall apart. Who is actually right, if you strip away prejudice? If you want a pair of boots that will last 5-10 years...Wal-Mart is probably not the place to go shopping. That sounds like your real issue...our throw away society.
exactly odon. wal mart sells shit meant to throw away after a limited amount of time. spin it however you want but its still,CHEAP SHIT CHEAP!! YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!! this may come as a shock to you but many americans do their own maintenance on their vehicles and their yards.. we do have yards here ya know? its not just a luxury for the rich.. i would much rather buy a stihl weedeater for 300 bucks and have it last me the rest of my life over a poulan that costs 90 and may last two seasons if you baby it.. you go ahead and buy your cheap shit cheap over and over and fill the landfills with imported plastic garbage. we will buy the best money can buy and be comfortable in knowing it will be the last one we ever buy, or not have to worry about a product failing for decades..
No, it doesn't. Same here. I also appreciate more of America is rural and there are a greater amount of people caring for large plots of land. That is one type of consumer. That would be you. Jo average doesn't perform the same duties as you...and doesn't have strips of land that need pro' gear. Jo average buys some boots or what ever to last upto 5 years...there is nothing wrong with that time frame. If you bought your ideal pair and they lasted only 20 years rather than 30-40 years...would your gear be "cheap shit"? I doubt you would consider them to be. Come that day, I'd stand in front of you and laugh and call your purchase cheap shit....lol. Atleast we do agree, you get what you pay for...and your biggest gripe is with the throw away society.
actually i would consider it overpriced cheap shit and i would never purchase that product again.. and id be more than a bit upset over making a bad purchase decision..
Man, you are a demanding fellow. You might as well though (buy the same pair)...after 20 years (making you about 65) you probably wouldn't need another pair to last you 40 years.
I like the self check out I think it speeds up service so to me it's a positive, I agree with hhb on the specialty items like chainsaws ect but that's what specialty shops are for. As for just general clothing like socks and T-shirts walmart can't be beat. The food is very cheap there and most of it is name brand, I don't purchase meat at walmart mainly because I know of a store that usually has fresher cuts. I never did understand walmart hate.
well the reality is in small town america when walmart moves in it crushes those stores that do sell specialty items.. i cant really put all the blame on wal mart for that because it takes people willing to buy the crap for them to stay in business. what is truly at my core hate with wal mart is that i am old enough to remember when nearly everything wal mart sold was made in america. thats how they sold themselves to small town america. then they put the mom and pop stores on mainstreet out of business and started selling chinese made crap. it is something i personally will never be able to get over..
i agree with this. plus i don't have to chitchat with an annoying cashier. the only store i noticed going out of business when the walmart moved in was the kmart...
