Sorry bud, I just happened to come across this today, the generational divide has been redefined

New Guidelines Redefine Birth Years for Millennials, Gen-X, and 'Post-Millennials'
So now instead of old people thinking you're lazy, entitled, and selfish because you're gen Y, they'll think you're those qualities because you're a millenial. Welcome to the millenial generation, I really think you're going to like it here. I hope you're prepared to shoulder the blame for the way our parents and grandparents have shaped the world.

Thats dumb, you are not a millenial if born in 1981, 19 years before the new millenium, thats gen y

 

That would make me Gen X and I've never felt a connection to those people.

 

I've read somewhere that some sociologists put those at the older end of the millennial generation (perhaps younger of gen x)into a sub category dubbed 'sub y'. People born in this time tend to possess traits from gen x (old enough to remember pre internet days) and millennial (quite young when internet became commonplace so tend to possess the same knack for gadgetry and computers).

So, I think some of us are in this sub y group.

I will forever think of 1979-1985 or so as a microgeneration....the first to really use technology on a daily basis but the last to live an unplugged childhood
