Interesting. I find that psychedelics are merely a shorthand for rearranging sensual input which, to be enjoyed consistently, begs for there to be a pre-existing notion that reality is inherently concrete: most people I know who trip frequently feel that they're defying definite laws of some kind, and thus enjoy a sense of rebellion. That isn't to imply that psychoelics are useless, but rather to question the extent of their usefulness. I can see how normalizing marijuana would make it boring, especially when it's thought of as an end as opposed to a means. But personally, I find that the effects of THC have the capacity to allow one to be entirely honest with oneself (the cause of paranoia?) which allows for some intellectual progression to happen, as opposed to a dull circle of "I'm high and now I'm not...I'm high and now I'm not...". On the plus side, magic mushrooms are very easy and inexpensive to cultivate. Can't argue with that.
