http://www.leap.cc/cms/index.php you can either help make LEAP a better possibility.... Or continue being a bunch of law breaking dicks..
That video seems to go against what you're saying. Yes, fuck the police, because they choose to take a profession that is disrespectful to, and holds in contempt, those that they are supposted to be serving. They can not be respected while doing this. When private issues of health and morality are no longer their business, then they will be respectable. Of course there are people that choose to be LEO's to help people, and these are usually people who where simply never concerned with drugs or sex or anything, that is, their desires never went against the law. They're good, and slightly misused, people. But law enforcement have the choice to not do the wrong thing, they can simply not notice. The guy had acid.... was it like taped to his windshield? it's a tiny piece of paper, they don't need to see, or recognise, it. They choose to.
But why can't I do both? When they legalized drugs I'd have to go back to drinking in public to fulfill my need to arbitrarily break the law.
you can still jaywalk, pirate movies and stuff.... Come on, there is a million laws you can break.. ;p
i'm not denying that but the drug war doesn't actually help deter these kinds of behaviors... and so many people are immorally arrested for drugs its ridiculous. the drug war is a huge waste of money too. none of the reasons you've listed excuses cops from doing thing they shouldn't be doing... illegal or not... their ignorance doesn't morally excuse them. the fact remains that most of these people on blunt rides don't deserve to be arrested...
I don't have a huge deal of respect for the police either to be honest. A large percentage of theft is probably committed in order to pay for the drugs that the police prohibit, meaning the drugs are unregulated and extremely expensive, hence the need for stealing. The theft is perpetuated by the policy and the police who enforce it. A lot of the violence is fueled by alcohol, the only drug they allow (aside from caffeine and nicotine) It's almost as if the police get paid to deal with the problems they themselves are creating. from the outside it looks like a scam If drugs like heroine and cocaine was legalized, and sold like cigarettes at a similar prices, people would no longer have to steal and prostitute themselves or lose their house. Cannabis should be available too (though perhaps our psychotic/schizophrenic friends might have to sit that one out, just like firearms aren't handed out to the depressed) The money would no longer go to cartels and dealers who exploit addiction for huge prices, instead it should probably go to specialized clinics. Heroine is the perfect medication for certain types of pain, cannabis can be too. Coca leaves are an appetite suppressant, which could help people lose weight. There would still be issues, but many problems would be nullified. People should be allowed these things. It's fucking ridiculous that we banned from certain plants, we deserve freedom.
Cops didn't create the drug war, your elected lawmakers did that(with public support I should add). Cops don't get to pick and choose which laws they want to enforce, especially when most drug possession outside of weed often constitutes a felony. There are numerous cops who don't agree with it, and this is shown every single time a person isn't arrested for marijuana, drinking in public, ect. I've known more people caught with weed and let go than actually arrested, but then again this is New England. Class, let's go over this again. Cops don't make laws, they only enforce laws. Cops are also people, often tilting to the conservative side, and like many people a lot of them probably support the war on drugs. Meanwhile, a lot of them don't.
It's a nice thought, that we can pass the buck up the bureaucrats and politicians...but really everyone is ultimately responsibility. There would cease to be war if men simply did not pick up guns, even if the general told them too.
and the junkies wouldnt have to murder a 14yr girl that couldnt get them any crack at 2am in the morning either..
EDIT: I think I misread...I thought you were saying something else Yeah. easy on the stereotype though =) I'm an ex-heroine user and I've also shot meth. Luckily It wasn't for long - I only used meth once or twice. I've also been diagnosed with drug induced psychosis (i think it was a misdiagnosis but w/e) but I don't think I would have done something that evil, ever. ...meth is a drug so nasty I think even if it was legal people wouldn't want it anyway once they found out how sick it can make you That situation you describe can only occur when there is prohibition. If the Junkies could get their drug easily it wouldn't have happened. It's a bit like when your a kid, and and adult has a present and is holding it above your head...teasing you You want things you can't have When you get them, you don't want them as much
But it's very hard to impress upon people exactly how dangerous some drugs are, when there's virtually harmless drugs with much stiffer penalties. The average kid who gets sucked into hard drugs was always told that drugs are all bad, and LSD will make you murder your friends for another dose to avoid those horrible acid withdrawls, and then they smoke a joint. Then they drink a beer and smoke a cigarette. They still feel fine, no sign of drugs hurting yet, so they take a few little paper squares and pills with naked ladies impressed on them. Still feelin' fine, no reason not to trust the guy who tells you how fun and consequence free his addies and oxy are, and even gives you two for the price of one the first time. And then the gateway theory looks to have been perfectly proven, by those who came up with the whole fucking silly war and system. tl;dr: there will be less junkies when all drugs are legal.
cops didn't make the laws.. so what.. they choose to to be in a position where they enforce those laws... its same logic saying the september 11 terrorists didn't make the plans but were carrying out plans decided by those farther up so they are excused... different degree of evil but same concept
LMAO... wtf? I didn't make this thread, and even if i did, this thread was originally started as - "i hate cops now... the show"(So from the jump it was never about all cops in real world)). I didn't watch your video. I THINK, why don't you READ before "blindly" attack someone for their opinion when you obviously have no idea what their opinion is? Really? Never once, ever, in this thread(or any where else) did i say i hated cops for following the law. See, if you were a cop i would hate you, cause you jump to conclusions and have no evidence to back up your conviction.....duesch AGAIN for Grinners illiterate ass - My opinion is this - Cops that follow the laws and are fair about it are fine in my book. If i break the law i except responsibility for my actions and the consequences that come with them, but only lawful consequences. Cops that steal from, beat on, lie about people and step outside of the law and do what they think is right are dicks, fuck those cops, not all cops.
Yeah except I've yet to see a terrorist, or the general public for that matter, in a shoot out with hostage takers to rescue people they've never even met, dealing with people out of their mind on crack or PCP, or try to take a violent felon into custody. So yeah. Or let's try this, drug users didn't make the law, they just put themselves into a position to flamboyantly break the law, so really it's the cop's fault that their breaking the law.
I've never seen a terrorist or the general public forge mountains of utterbulshit about me and swear it to a judge to get a warrant to search my residence, and then arrest me not once, but twice, because they filed the wrong charges the first time. I've seen a cop do it. If you where talking about flamboyantly breaking rape or murder laws, that would be different, but laws that are in blatant attack on the existence of a free state, that's just a bit more understandable to flamboyantly break. Everyone needs to flamboyantly break this kind of law, silence only results in worse conditions.
some of my dark colored friends say,. "you have not lived life yet, if you have not been in jail at least once"..
I thought you were the OP, and was simply pointing out the contradictory nature in the two ideas. But it sounds like you are well on your path to enlightenment, joy, love, passion, answers etc. so keep it up. Much love.
i was really reffering to cops who predominantly arrest people for drugs or other laws which shouldn't be there, and very often when the people don't really deserve too. i personally got arrested for paraphenalia and got charged a dui after going threw a completely unexpected checkpoint after smoking a j with freinds 15 minutes earlier. i wasn't behaving or driving erratically and my extreme cooperation got me into more trouble than i should have been in. its a different situation when people are harming others or behaving irresponsibly - which PCP can easily lead too, but often cops seem like they just want to fuck over teenager/ young adults who would have been perfectly fine otherwise. or like arresting people who have had two beers?
