I love America. Its not perfect by any stretch of the imagination, but its done alright for itself compared to all of human history and nations. The USA is the result of humanities best success story of civilisation and globalisation of all time. Hate it or love it, if not for the USA we'd all now be living in worse times. With love, a patriot Briton.
Tell a kid in Afghanistan who got his legs blown off by a drone and watched his baby sister die that we'd be living in worse times if not for the USA. That's just the self-centered nature of the Western world. We just try to live our best lives, completely oblivious to the suffering of the rest of the world, sometimes at our hands. We don't take responsibility for the things our leaders do. We're just Westerners. And one of these days I fear we're going to get a great big wake up call.
That is just life. Survival of the fittest, as cold as it sounds. Mother nature always wins above all else. No religion, morals, treaties or laws will define the outcome of any global environmental catastrophic hardships to come sooner or later.
If you consider the fittest to be those most suited to wage war on other nations, I suppose, maybe...nah... That's a new one, though, to me...defining your nation as the will of mother nature, and all evils that come of it as simply nature's way of weeding out the "weak" ones. As if a person's preponderance to make war is a legitimate means of determining how fit they are to survive. It doesn't sound cold, per se. It just sounds abysmally stupid and shortsighted. I, of course, grant you the benefit of the doubt that you're not as cold as it sounds, because what it sounds like you're saying is that anyone who you shoot with a gun is just a victim of Mother Nature. That you are reality, and reality just happens to be against anyone you choose to kill. I think that's called being a psychopath.
This happened just recently. I'm sure the families of the dead appreciate the US's dedication to Justice, Freedom, blah blah blah. JALALABAD, Afghanistan (Reuters) A U.S. drone strike intended to hit an Islamic State (IS) hideout in Afghanistan killed at least 30 civilians resting after a day’s labor in the [pine nut] fields, officials said on Thursday. “The workers had lit a bonfire and were sitting together when a drone targeted them,” tribal elder Malik Rahat Gul told Reuters by telephone from Wazir Tangi. Haidar Khan, who owns the pine nut fields, said about 150 workers were there for harvesting, with some still missing as well as the confirmed dead and injured. The United Nations says nearly 4,000 civilians were killed or wounded in the first half of the year. That included a big increase in casualties inflicted by government and U.S.-led foreign forces. We manage in the UK, but the game is very different. I was asked to play once, but they never invited me again. Perhaps it was because after a days training, I only managed to score one goal. It was just a pity that the trainer forgot to tell me that on the day of the match, I was supposed to put it in the other goal. Or maybe they they just disliked my umbrella. Well it was raining and I did not want to get my suit wet. Silly me..... Anyone would think that I did not want them to invite me onto the team permanently..... Oh Well.....
I hope someone is taking a tally of the total number of civilians that have been killed at the hands of the United States throughout its history. I have no idea how big that number is. Could it be millions? Have we, directly or indirectly, killed a million innocent people? Maybe it's time we stop being in a war for a little while, so nobody gets the impression that we want a great big bloody war to end all wars.
Fittest being those who amassed the most and powerful weaponry and technological advancement. A "new one"? that's literally been the case since the rise of the Roman Empire, no? "Evils" is a matter of law and order, right? Only defined by religions until the likes of the magna carta that came about and so forth that the many-amass of European peoples gave their lives for the now/modern rules that gave rise to and paved the way to laws like the establishment of international laws that we so now class as international laws as defined by the UN that we basically recognise as Human Rights? ALL of which would have no actual lawful international representation if not for the "evils" of the British and Americans enforcing actual "evils"? I personally believe that the ultra rich elite caused the 9/11 attacks. But no proof... obviously.
Do you know what happened to the Roman Empire? The same thing that happens to everyone who believes they are fittest to survive because they have acquired the most mind-bogglingly brilliant technology. There are bigger things to come, and if the United States isn't big enough to fit them, then the United States will crumble like all of the rest. The sheer act of might isn't the thing that makes someone fittest to survive. What makes someone fittest to survive is if they are the best at helping other people. If you have a girl who knows how to cure cancer, and a girl who constructed her own light saber just to kill the girl who can cure cancer, who is the most fit to survive? You can laugh and say "The girl who invented the lightsaber," but guess what? Then the girl who invented the lightsaber gets cancer from shit she was messing with when she invented it, and she killed the only girl who could cure it.
