I had another revelation yesterday!

    Boy, they just keep on coming.

    We've been watching old I've Got a Secret TV shows lately on YouTube.
    Like really old, 1952, 53 era.
    Here's a photo of some of the people on the show.

    Can any of you old timers name anyone?
    Anyway the second from the right is Jayne Meadows and I kept thinking she looks different than she did when playing Alice on Jackie Gleason's The Honeymooners TV show.

    Then Jackie Gleason appeared on the show as a guest but he never mentioned her being on his show.
    Then it hit me!
    It's because Jayne Meadows is the sister of Audrey Meadows and that's who played Alice on The Honeymooners, not Jayne!
    They're two different people!

    My wife called me an idiot.

    one thing i'm no good at remembering are names of people, even most professional names of entertainment people.
    i sure remember those old shows being what was on the big old sears silvertone black and white table model though.
    the tv was mom's escape from the psychologically abusive culture that was the conventionality of the 50s,
    which were the decade of my pre-teen childhood. (2-12 in 50-60)

    I don't think so, maybe Laraine Day. She's the only one in that picture I'm not sure of.

    Yes, Garry Moore.

    On the left is Bill Cullen, then Jayne Meadows, and then Henry Morgan.

    I can't believe how many cigarettes they smoke during the show.
    Moore got throat cancer and died of emphysema.
    Bill Cullen died of lung cancer.
    Jayne Meadows was married to Steve Allen.
    Henry Morgan died of lung cancer.

    Betsy Palmer who played Jason Voorhees' mother in Friday the 13th (1980) was also a regular on the show.
