    Hate to break it to ya porkstock, but nothing new, unique, or really psychedelic about it. It is a very well known and researched phenomena known as a Hynagogic state;

    Hypnagogic hallucination: A vivid dreamlike hallucination that occurs as one is falling asleep. The opposite of an hypnopompic hallucination which is a vivid dreamlike hallucination that occurs as one is waking up.

    Given that, they are pretty interesting states, but very difficult to maintain as it resides on the razor edge between wakefulness and sleep. for years I have relished those experiences and I have been able to maintain the state for prolonged periods, like maybe 10 -15 minutes, but often trying to maintain the state pulls your focus towards it and often results in full wakefulness.

    I too will go into a similar state of awareness after a day of heroic weed ingestion. That state is also very much like that achieved from eating weed or hash.

    Yea, when I make butter and bake something. I tend to eat alot of it in one sitting and then an hour later I'm up in the clouds with a lead vest and all I can do is sit there and go through dream like states over and over again.

    I agree completely, nothing like a free mind trip.
    Like I said interesting state of awareness to be sure, but very elusive to try to maintain.

    yea it always shocks me into waking up. i have it almost every night i think...it's usually more like a regular dream though - just random people and events. that time it was amazingly visual and sinister feeling. just a particularly cool Hypnagogic hallucination

    The few times that I have been able to somewhat control an astral projection session, when I leave my body there are all kinds of loud staticy noises as it is happening, alot like the loud cellophane-like noises you hear after you smoke dmt. It almost sounds like your brain tuning to a different frequency or something, its very interesting. I wonder what the explanation for this is?
