I find this amazing. My opinions on other posters has really been influenced by this thread. We have vigilante justice, shakin kids down for a piece of glass, pro-LEO's, anti-LEOs, and that is barely scratching the surface.

My opinion is that the OP did the right thing. When you are employed by a company, either a small independent store or an int'l mega-corporation, the success of that business keeps you employed. So the little clerk told her manager that a teenage male stole a product. Most female girls I know would be stupid to challenge a male thief. The manager stops the kid. As far as we know the manager spoke to the kid who then was a disrespectful little shit and that resulted in the manager calling hte cops. The kid brought his punishment on himself. Better caught stealing a cigar or a woman's purse? This has the possibility of helping the young thief in the long run.

As for LEO's, they provide a great service to the country. One of my biggest issues with these forumers is the number of people who claim that it is unfair that pot users are stereotyped but then out of the other side of their mouth stereotype all cops as power hungry pigs (or whatever words they use with the same basic meanings). I don't care if they are cops in Colorado or cops in St Louis, or insert another town here, for the most part they aren't the "evil" cops. They, like the little girl, have a job to do. If you want to avoid conflict with the LEOs, follow the rules. If you don't like the rules change them or move on, it is up to you.

Oh yes, it's entirely possible. kinda like star trek. the problems is that in a system like that we'd have to be able to provide everybody with what they need instantaniously and with very little energy. however, in today's world we need to trade goods and services in order to survive, and money makes it a lot easier (i can trade a coupla pieces of paper which i can cary around, or livestock, which is harder to transport).
And dude is a repeat offender, so i doubt warning could have any effect. maybe putting up a camera, but even that doesn't deter him or others like him.

Look, the kid did something wrong, and he's payed the price for doing so. Whose fault is that? She didn't call the cops, the manager did, so lay off.

It's his own fault for being such a cocky wanker.

TheShow is right; police do serve a purpose. It's the snitches and crooked cops that urk my taters. They need to all shoot themselves with potato guns or some shit.

But the good cops know where to draw the line, sometimes, because there are some good cops out there. Though there are some good and some bad cops, it has nothing to do with snitches, because ALL snitches are scum.

Telling the manager is still some grimey snitching ass bullshit

TNS, maybe it is a fundamental difference in where we grew up, maybe it is a difference in beliefe structure. I belive people who get off on snitching on people who are minding their business have problems. For example, if someone snitches on someone for getting high when it has no impact on anyone besides he who is smoking, than that snitch is in the wrong. Would it still be wrong snitching if the scenario became rape or murder or does the person become a hero? IMO, doing your job is not the same thing as snitching.

Come down to GA and see how 'Rambo' I can get, bitch. I'm only 140lbs, but believe me when I say I WILL scrap your fuckin head off.................ass happens to all snitches in GA.

If my cousin goes to jail for this meth charge(which wasn't even his, but he didn't snitch). His "friend" snitched and didn't claim the shit and if my cousin goes to jail for that shit, that snitchen motherfucker is gonna get every bone i his face shattered.

Plain and simple: Snitches have no heart.

coupla years back i worked in a gas station.
it was one of those older model ones where it was just a booth with a coupla pumps around it.
i got to read most of the day, and could smoke cigarettes and weed whenever i wanted to. it was a great job (scept for the pay, but the being alone part made up for that)...
Gas prices started to shoot up then, and gas stations don't make ANY money on the gas they sell, it's kinda like movie theaters, their only source of income is the shit they sell. this means that if someone steals some gas they can get away with basically 60 dollars, three or four of those a day will destroy any profit. well, a shit ton of people started driving off, and the station closed down. those people hurt me, personally, and the people around me by stealing. their actions had consequences, but they didn't care. if they get what's coming to them in the form of police action, it's well deserved.
and trying to stop them by getting their licesnce plate isn't snitching. it's protecting myself.
any more than stopping a shoplifter.

Think about it this way, some dude steals your pot. you can try and smash his face in yourself, or you call your boys who are a lot bigger, more numerous, and better armed to do it for you.
I ain't much of a fighter, and even if i was i'd still go in with my boys.

no it isn't, unless ones job includes snitching. She could have warned the kid.

It's the LEAST she could have done.

If there were anything I would snitch about is rape or any violence against a female, but that's only if I can;t get the perv first.

Now, murder? Sometimes murder is necessary. For instance, if someone was raped or if someone hurt my mom, in any way, the fuckers gonna be hurting.
