Of course you should never take steps t oprevent the spread of lice. People that avoid others to prevent the spread of parasites are obviously ashamed of their new biological partner. We as a society need to learn to accept our lice and respect them, wear them as a badge of pride even, learn to love lice and be not ashamed, lice are people too!
People do have very emotional reactions to catching lice, I think that has helped them survive despite our efforts to eradicate them. Denial is one of the extreme reactions that people have. If they start plaguing a class full of kids and one parent reacts with denial, all the efforts of the other parents are pretty much wasted. On top of that, the lice are developing resistance to the most popular insecticidal shampoos. Another poster mentioned that RID was great, well maybe it was last year, but super lice just laugh at the stuff. Another strong emotional reaction is PANIC. I have heard too many stories about people putting kerosene on their kid's hair. That is not a good idea.
Who are you to question the practice of the shaman who for generations wrote the book on the eradication of lice by first soaking the hair in kerosene oil and then wrapping it in cloth for 24 hours Hotwater
i didn't don't worry!!!! anyways that was like 3 weeks ago. they're all gone now and I bleached my hair.
I saw this thread and I thought, "can lice live through a triple bleaching?" Penny answered me before I asked......
