So today I got fired because someone lied and said I left early one night when I did not and she also claimed that I said I would lie to our regional director to make sure the new interim ED would not become our permanent ED. All of this is a complete lie because I was given the shift she wanted. I don't understand people at all...

If you left early...who did she say clocked you out? They should get fired too.

I had to fill out a Kronos because the machine wouldn't read my finger. He didn't like me as is because I stand up to him instead of kissing his ass. But of he asked anybody except her they would tell him I didn't leave early but whatever

They should do an investigation, ask other employees...I guess they don't have time for that! Sounds like he wanted to fire you and was looking for a reason and never had one, and that was it.

That's what I said, but no investigation they just fired me because if what one person said. And now he is pissed that nobody will cover my shifts because they thought if was screwed up that he fired me.

Get on the phone with your state's unemployment office in the morning. Sounds like you could definitely have a shot at sitting on the company's tab for 6 months.

Yeah, you might want to give it a rest for a bit so you can pass one. I know in Texas, there is a 4 week waiting period before you find out whether or not you were approved for unemployment, but if you are improved, payments stack up during that period.

You really should talk to unemployment if only to get your name cleared for your resume.

I was fired eons ago from a orthodontic office. They said that I had left early (I did punch a time card though.) Perhaps they thought I would not fight the dismissal. The real reason they fired me was that they discovered that their Christmas card list was tied into the list of people who were paying off the bills over time. People who had paid in full were not on the list and not getting Christmas cards. So they wanted all staff to come in on their day off to hand address Christmas cards. I had family visiting that day and told them I could not come on my day off. They fired me the following day.

I went through the unemployment office and it went to some kind of court. I won. I was already working another job by then but did get the back pay from unemployment. I went through this so that it would not show up on my resume that I had been fired from anywhere.

Oh God, fucking KRONOS, we have that at work too, I hate it. Well, I wish you luck and hope you find something better...maybe this will be a chance for you to find something you like with nice people.

Legally, there must be just cause for termination. If you feel that there is not, then you should file a complaint. It will clear your employment history and also holds firms accountable for treatment of associates. There in most cases must be documented history in order to justify legal termination with cause.

If you use a computer during your shift it can be proof of working hours and would "prove" your claim of still being on the clock. There have been cases of outside cameras (adjoining business, even parking cameras) being brought in to prove a point. In other words if you wish to challenge this it can be done.

You do not mention if your environment is unionized. If it is you should be contacting them.

The comments about the interim ED can also be challenged. Unless you can be shown to have directly impeded the person and their ability to do their job, you have a case.

It is up to you to decide how important it is to you to challenge this.

Seems to me - You have to weigh up if a Fight is worth it(?)
    and/or
If you have Nothing to Lose, Then you have Everything to gain
Taking advice prior to getting involved in a case that would cause Stress and cost $s is that which I would say you should consider
    :)
