Thank you even tho thats not happening.....looking at inbloom's and your boyfriend's(i think hes your bf anyway) convinced me to try again, and really work on them. Thanks for the palmrolling advice, and all that, I was doing nothing but twisting and putting them in scrunchies. I think Wednesday I'm trying them one more time, if they don't work this time, I'm gonna wait till my hair's longer.

 

just be sure that you really want them, because it's quite a commitment Don't use the bands, though, they'll just mess things up. You can't avoid thr frizzies, but if you work on it they shouldn't last more than a couple of days. They still won't be "perfect", that'll take at least a couple of weeks (or months, depending on how dedicated you are) but it doesn't take long. If you decide to do it again, I hope it works out....and don't be afraid to PM me or sprout about it

 

Yeah I want to do this...its either dreads or shitty flat hair the rest of my life. So no scrunchies either or just rubber bands? Cuz I attempted this a few days ago too, and used bands, and they tore out a bunch of hair, but I didn't have a problem like that with the scrunchies.

 

scrunchies are okay as long as you don't KEEP then in your hair. If you just wanna pull it back, it should be fine.....but you still don't wanna put it in there too tightly while the dreads are still loose.

Rubber bands are the devil

 

So....how do I keep the dreads together at first, if I'm not supposed to use scrunchies for too long? And do I not put a scrunchie all the way up the soon-to-be dread, pressing down on the scalp? That's prolly not a good explanation....

And yes, rubber bands are the devil , did you figure that out with Sprout?
