All the schools I have heard of require you to sign away your rights when parking your vehicle on campus. Why would they let you keep your rights if it helps them?

so basically if im walking down the hall and the cops sees something in my pocket (the outline of altoids case), he can just say "whats in your pocket, empty them"?

i think ill just put a pack of gum infront of it from now on so ill just say its that.

That's news to me. I was just stating the laws I knew of, each district may be different.

If I was subjected to such requirements I would refuse to go too school.

The law allows you to deny a search but the schools can let you sign it away because you are parking on campus. If you tell them that you're not going to school because of it then they will tell you to find other means of transportation or transfer to another school.

ironically this happend last night to me, they pulled me over for a broken taillight and i said and i quote "I uphold my 4th amendment rights to no search without probable cause" and he was a little puzzled but still insisted on searching so I just let him, but I could have then said no again not without a warrant and they wouldent have done shit. Always stick up for yourself no matter what.
