I sewed right through my finger. I was working on this grass applique and spotted a piece of stray thread on my fabric. Stupid me went to pick it off while I was sewing and I got my finger. I yanked my finger out which made it even worse because when it bent the needle (didn't break it thank goodness) it tore my skin. *sigh* That is two times so far this year. Same finger. On the positive side of it all....no blood got on my project. lol It was one of those delayed cuts that take a while..no blood..but by the time I was in the bathroom it was gushing. Just thought I'd share my experience on the dark side of sewing and hopefully prevent this from happening to one of you guys. Stop sewing if you are reaching your hand near your needle. lol
dang.... that sucks... I once did the same thing and halfway through the move realized that I was going to hit my finger.... thank goodness a small part of my brain responded and I lifted my foot.... I hope it's okay now!
I sewed through my finger last week.. I stuck my finger right under the needle for no good reason ... It sucks...
Ouch hun! that hurts too, with all those nerve endings there at the tip of your finger. Watch that needle!
i did that in home economics in 8th grade. didnt hurt as bad as you would suppose, didnt feel good either but at least the stick is really quick.
oh man, i've done that before but just a lil pric. the worst is when i cut the tip of my thumb off with some real sharp scissors. ouch! Cre, i hope it didnt go all the way through, did it? how deep? ;X
It did go all the way through It just barely missed the fingernail. But, like mariecstasy said..it is really really fast. It was done before I even knew what had happened. Yay for slow reflexes. lol
I just recently sewed all the way thru my finger and ur right it didn't really hurt as bad as one might think...It was a thicker needle and as cre described it was right next to my nail...and it did delay before bleeding...but it feels pretty good considering the circumstances! i never understand how one sewed thru a finger..but now i know! i feel like i'm officially a seamstress !
