They went from INNOCENT FUN to games about killing FOR NO REASON!!! http://web.archive.org/web/20060621175240/http://u3.flurl.com/1149265036/2006/Jun/10/FLURL-dot-com-147301-BarneyCalhounHumanRights.wmv ANYONE WHO ENJOYS THIS TRASH IS A SCUMBAG........ NOTHING FUN ABOUT KILLING FOR NO REASON!!!
Gets the kiddies ready for foreign excursions to protect the assets of BIG BUSINESS on the taxpayers dime.
That's not the worst part. The worst part is that the cinematics have become so realistic that 70% of games are just watching a story line unfold like a movie or TV series. Dragon Age Origins, hell I gave up after a couple of days. I wanted to play a game, not watch anime.
here ya go. a free game produced and hosted by the United States Army; America's Army. http://www.americasarmy.com/ But at least to their credit they do not hide the fact that it is a recruitment and training tool. I've played it before, pretty good as far as FPS games go and the weaponry and gear is all realistic.
while I am a little bemused at dude's constant wishing to live in the past, I do have to agree with this one. Video games are so boring nowadays, especially when you have to sit through a 30 minute introduction into the story line before you start playing. The last game I really got into was donkey kong country for snes if that tells you anything. The mine level was the best.
I really enjoy the freedom in Skyrim and alike. I never ever go with the story line. I've spent enormous amount of time simply exploring the country side and looking for treasure. I've never followed the story. Neither in Oblivion or Fallout. In fact, playing the game for its purpose doesn't even register when I play it. I have my own agendas.
i'm constantly amazed that people give a shit about video games......how many hours have you spent on gaming dude?....lifetime? i'm guessing that if you had of went to computer school or where ever you could have had a Sony work station as opposed to a sony play station
There's a way to immense yourself in a game that allows you to be what you cannot be in real life. Now you can take the imagination route and have fun or you could take it way too seriously like a lot of people. Myself, I have fun with. I don't race cars in real life and I don't think I'll own those Denver Broncos, but in my gaming life I own those boys, I own my own race team and I'm a bloody good warrior in Skyrim adventures. and that's just how it is for me. Fun. Sure I spend a lot of time or at least in the past, but if I'm enjoying my time it's worth it. I wouldn't ever give it up to pursue something not enjoyable that uses up my time.
that's TRUE, it was INNOCENT FUN when you were killing 3 pixels that represented a person FOR NO REASON, but now that games HAVE MORE OPTIONS AND BETTER GRAPHICS, only a SCUMBAG would kill a larger collection of pixels because THAT IS PART OF THE STORYLINE, OR MAYBE IT'S NOT, BECAUSE NOW YOU HAVE TO ABILITY TO THINK FOR YOURSELF AND MAKE CHOICES IN VIDEO GAMES.
When I think about it though, I was always blowing shit up from the first time I picked up an Atari joystick.
Yes but you werent killing things that actially look like people!! Games are supposed to be FUN....... Not senseless violence.....
I remember turok on n64 was one of the goriest games that i remember. couldnt find video of original game which is the one i remember the most and had blood that would gush and spurt out of enemies necks when you kill them. http://youtu.be/ZFqTzTS4hKM
Skyrim TOTALLY gives you the option to run from Humanoids and stick to Hunting like a Ranger or fighting Dragons. Just sayin',,, But then if an Orc or Hagraven is trying to make a Mug of your skull to drink the blood of Virgins from,,, is it all that senseless to defend oneself?
