I still wouldn't pay 80$ for a t-shirt out of principle. Especially if it was a t-shirt as faggalicious as that one.
People tend to lose their principles when they come upon large sums of money, especially when they didn't work to earn said cash. I'm just pointing it out. Money changes people.
Sure. But that doesn't change the fact that a non-extremely rich person who buys these shirts is a complete tool.
ehh i have money that i didnt earn. i blow it on music equipment, booze, drugs, shows, and vintage clothes. if i buy expensive clothes it's not for some stupid label. it's because they're genuinely worth it to me.
I disagree. I hate to talk about money, but I've always had way more money than I should and it has always been just given to me. I do spend a lot of money on things I need, on gifts, on things I like and there have been times were I've spent a lot of money in a dress. Not because it's certain brand, but because I loved it and I had the money to buy it, so why not? But Im equally happy with a shirt that cost me 5 dollars than with a shirt that cost me 100. Actually Im more happy with the one that cost me cheaper, because I feel good when I get cool cheap things, it makes them even cooler. The point is that I dont think money has changed me in any way, maybe because I grew up having it, but I dont consider myself a shallow, materialistic person, but of course that's for others to judge.
So like...hey, yeah... hey... can I like... hey, you know... hey, you know... kinda... you know... like... borrow... you know... A beer?
That's the difference between people who grow up with money and those who don't. I've seen it go to way too many heads because honestly, we live in a pretty poor town, and usually it's pure luck when someone runs into money, and they end up completely different people. Money can't change you if you've always had it. And it doesn't make everybody horrible, some people actually keep their morals when they have money. Just a lot of people don't, and I was kind of trying to defend Droopy, because he's one of my better friends on here and I don't think splurging on t-shirts makes him a bad person. T-shirts is what he's done for so long, maybe that's what he loves, and shame on anyone for looking down on someone for spending THEIR money on something they love.
I don't think that anyone in this thread is being too serious, or actually attacking Droopy personally... I do find that 99.9% of people who spend 80$ on a brand name t-shirt are complete douchebags or idiots though. Hopefully Droopy does not fall in the category.
Hahaah, that's cool I guess. No worries man, I personally don't like the idea of being a walking banner myself. Most of the Affliction shirts don't have a big flashy logo on them. SOME DO, but not all. The one's I got had tinyass little logos you could hardly see worked into the art itself. Speaking of which, the artists are world renowned creators outside the tshirt industry. That is what makes the shirts so unique. It's cool, you don't have to like em, but I gotta say, Rubes, I am on the same page as you are when it comes to someone wearing certain clothes just because everyone else is. I happen to like the shirts, and can afford to buy a couple every now and then. Shit, they can become the gayest ass thing out there tomorrow, and I would still want to wear one. just my 0.02, and thanks Manda, your check's in the mail. haha
All in all...do whatever the fuck you want and don't let cynical assholes like me tell you otherwise.
Tapout clothing is pretty sweet to and its much cheaper. The shirts i saw were going for around $20 as opposed the affliction ones that were $50.
Yea I know. My tshirt shop sold Tapout. I have a closet full of their stuff already. Pretty sweet gear, too.
Andy got an affliction hoodie on melrose a few years ago and I ALWAYS steal it. I think he has an olive green one that is too small for him too...must steal that as well.
'The Buckle' has some pretty cool T's if you like the style of affliction, but they're not really any cheaper.
I don't know man...Andy has some gorgeous designer duds and homeboy's not gay I was so proud of him in San FRancisco...he got his first Donna Karran sweater (in organic linen) and I got him to shop at banana republic for the first time. We both share the same favorite stores now. Although, I think the Levis store is still his ultimate favorite. I personality like the Gap lowrise jeans i got him because his ass looks so damn nice and I have never been into guy's asses before Andy.
