I am shocked..... in a good way

You can state this opinion of me, but this argument does not rest with me it rest with the Bible and God. What I am stating here has nothing to do with my personal opinion about you, but it is simply what the Bible is clearly stating. The Bible states that there are none righteous no not even one. The Bible also states, that by works alone no flesh shall be justified it is a gift of God not of works lest any man should boast. That gift according to scripture can only be received through the name of Jesus Christ.

I have felt that way a long time, and read that view many times in different words. A Sikh elder once said to me, the faiths are like a circle, and God is the dot in the center.

 

There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other Name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved. (Acts 4:12)​

One concept is inclusive, accepting, nonjudgemental, welcoming, respectful, loving, and shows equality of all people.
The other is divisive, exclusivist, judgemental, dismissive, and claims superiority.

I have chosen my favorite of the two...not telling tho.

 

JDFU, you have failed to convince me witht eh quotes from people other than Jesus..Why listen to what others say about matters, when God Himself came down to earth and preached directly to people...If there is only one mediator between God and Men, why are Pauls things and Revelations in there, wouldn't the NT only consist of Gospels is that was acctually listened to...

 

The thing I wonder about is what was in all the other rejected gospels that Irenaeus decided were fakes. The four he settled on have become looked on as being the only ones, yet I recall something like 20 were considered before these 4 were judged to be the 'real' ones.

Does anyone know if the gnostic gospels are some of them, or can anyone tell me the names of any additional ones. I have read the apocrypha too, but I don't know if it was part of the Irenaeus judgement batch.

Well the Bible says that all who have written the scriptures were inspired by God. So it is Jesus speaking thorugh the writers of both Old and the New Testament. That is why the writers of the Old Testament knew and wrote down the 300+ prophecies of Jesus' first coming. Because it was Jesus who told them what to look for in the first coming Messiah. Also, it was Jesus who told John and others in the New Testament what too look for his Second Coming.

 

technically then that would be two mediators...Father-->Jesus-->Paul-->written text...
and hey, ive played "telephone", the message can get completly messed up from passing along

 

Jesus and the Father are the same person they are part of the three and one God. The message is never messed up when God is in control of his people. And that is why we have over 300+ prophecies that accurately predict Jesus first coming because God was in control of what they wrote.

 

im not saying the prophicies are not true, but im saying why is all ths emphasis placed on Paul...more than half the NT isn't Jesus and things He did, but letters from Paul to places...

 

Paul help guide the Church in the beginning and he was needed at the time. The person that God used was not nearly as important, as the messages he passed on. Why does God choose anyone? Yet it's God's choice to do so, and it is a privilage to be the one that God may call.

 

that is why Paulism is a more apt name for the faith.
It is his baby, this Christianity, and I often wonder why so many who profess to follow Him, do not come even close to following his messages....
Mother Teresa is the only one I can think of right now that I would call a true Christian. I am sure there are more, I just don't know of them.
