Sweetheart, please start standing up for yourself. I went through this also, all of these peudo-friends (or "frienemies" as my little preppie friend has named them) calling me b/c they either wanted money or stuff. I started calling them out on it, by saying things like, "Hey, man, you know it's pretty funny that I don't hear from you for weeks at a time, and then the minute you need something, I'm good enough to call. What's up with that?" You run the risk of losing them as friends, but then, they're really pseudo-friends, and not worth wasting your precious time on. That's more time for relationships with real friends who want to invest their time and energy in you, and not always the other way around. Chin up, sweetie
